During Level-5 Vision 2016 the esteemed Japanese studio showed the trailer for the anime pilot episode of Inazuma Eleven Ares, the next entry in the popular soccer-based RPG franchise.
The title takes place after the events of the very first Inazuma Eleven game. Three main protagonists are included this time around - Ryouhei Haizaki, Asuto Inamori and Yuuma Nosaka - and the series is expected to make its debut in Japan next year.
Sadly no information was given about the video game version of Inazuma Eleven Ares. This could indicate that it's headed to to NX, which is yet to be officially shown off - hence the lack of solid info in this case. If it were headed to 3DS then they would surely be no reason to hold back confirmation. A smartphone version is also expected.
However, Level-5 did confirm that Ares will launch alongside a special NFC-enabled "Eleven Band" which tracks your steps and uses that data to boost characters in the game.
While it's naturally too early to talk about a western release, previously titles in the series have seen release in Europe. What do you make of this latest episode? Does the Eleven Band interest you? Let us know with a comment.

I wish level 5 would make another Mario Strikers game for a home console.
Yeah, this looks awesome. I'd buy the band (which just seems like a cool collectible) and the game in a second if they came to North America. Actually getting a 3DS release here would be great, but putting it on NX would certainly make getting one of those more attractive!
Fit bit and videogames! Yes please!
OMG they made a product designed to measure male... um... ah...
Moving on. Dont know how much this will cost, but the inclusion of the watch alone makes it worth 10x more than Go Plus. In fact this makes Go Plus looks like the $9.99 "friendship bracelet" they should be selling it as.
And this whole Level 5 Vision 2016 thing is yet another reason why Ntineod should have shown off NX by now. By now as in late May before E3 so game developers can talk about the games they are developing for it. This is just utter nonsense ridiculousness at this point.
Looks awesome
wish/hope we get galaxy over here soon have put more than 500 hours into chronostones
Wait... they have an ANIME?! That's cool! (I'd like to know more about that NFC band though!)
Definitely interest in giving this a chance.
Anime wise I loved all the series, game wise I just hope they stepped back from the "worse then MonsterHunter" item dropping they did in GO, if that's fixed I'm all in!
...If Ares will be released Worldwide; considering Europe never got the last title and America got even less, it's hard to be optimistic. I have some hopes only cause Ares takes place so early in the first trilogy maybe requiring even so little knowledge from previous games, that it's like a western release has been in their plans since the begin.
I liked the first game, and the second, but with the third I got bored because they hadn't changed anything. When you win every game 8-0 the game loses it's appeal. If they can reinvent the game I may be interested.
I've always been a sucker for devices and concepts that encourage people to get up and move to benefit in-game things.
If Inazuma Eleven is as popular as I assume it is (I admittedly don't keep up with the series), that band is gonna sell like crazy!
Im surprised Pokemon doesn't have something like this for Sun and Moon; could be an improved pokewalker. I dunno I just see this NFC feature as something that hasn't been used much if the capabilities are something like this. I have no clue about the game, or anime but probably will get it for that collectable haha.
The band looks pretty neat I may check it out I think kids would go for it in a big way especially if bundle with the game.
If we even get this game in North America it will be a miracle. The one released on Eshop was pretty awesome. I also have this feeling Level 5 is about to sell out to Smart Phones porting Fantasy Life to Smart Phones.
Kids are going to be running out of wrist real estate, what with the Go Plus, Yokai watch "watch-that-isn't-a-watch" and now this Eleven Band.
@Windy Level 5 is definitely about to sell out to smartphones. Akihiro Hino basically said so in a recent interview when he talked about how all the Japanese kids carry smartphones now instead of 3DS's. I think there is an article on this site about it.
Hmm, I am not so sure about the new cast (speaking of the anime). But I loved to watch the previous series, so I give it a shot!
Be for 3DS, please... (oh, I forgot we won't get it anyways, still waiting for the final GO chapter)
Is it alarming that we have no news about The Snack World since its announce last year?
@rosemo say it ain't so Rosemo!! Say it ain't soooooo.....The pain the suffering...... I'm not against phone gaming in fact there is some neat stuff out there. It just feels so uncomfortable and those intrusive ads unless you pay to remove them. But I'm a huge fan of owning the cartridge and doubt I ever change that. I will move along with it but for me Level 5 is making a nostalgic mistake.
@Windy Yeah, I agree with you. I really like Level 5 games and I usually end up deleting most of the mobile games I put on my phone, even if I buy them. However, they are a business and the money is clearly in the mobile market if you play your cards right. However, you can also easily get lost in the sea of garbage and malware as well. Well, for now anyway they are continuing to support 3DS as well as mobile so that is a good thing.
@rosemo let's just hope 3ds has a good long life. I've been wondering about that lately. Is there a new 3ds on the way, or will nintendo just keep running with the current 3ds? I'm OK with the keeping it going but it would be nice to see the technology advance. I would say 3ds is my favorite system of all time.
@Windy Yeah, I'm not sure. I really like the 3DS (and the DS and GBA before it). The prevailing opinion from places like Nintendo Voice Chat is that Nintendo will at least support the 3DS for another year or two. Beyond that, I'm sure it really just depends on the sales of the NX.
