While we wait (im)patiently for Nintendo to get its E3 party started, we stumbled across an interesting broadcast in our YouTube subscriber feed. So intriguing that we may just have to cover it live.
On 15th June at 11am Pacific / 2pm Eastern / 7pm UK / 8pm CET the SEGA Europe team will be streaming live from E3. Its description for the video got our attention.
Join Dan, Chris & Pete for a very special SEGA Central episode live streamed from E3 2016! During the stream we'll have special guests from Relic Entertainment, Sonic Team and we'll be unveiling news for EU fans of Sonic The Hedgehog! That's not all we'll also be giving you the chance to win a headset from our stream sponsors LucidSound! Ask questions using #AskSega for a chance to have your questioned answered live on the show!
We've learnt from recent experience not to get too excited about teases like this, but it'll be interesting to see what Sonic Team has to say and what the news is around the franchise. If it's a competition to win a pack for LEGO Dimensions, though, we wouldn't be surprised; hopefully SEGA can also fix the typo in its countdown to the stream, below.

Saaaayyyygaaaa
Huh, I clicked on the page 3s after you uploaded this!
What do I win?
@Rexx A high five!
It's probably the SEGA 3D Classics Collection for Europe... because they mention "EU fans". And probably a new look at Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice and Sonic in LEGO Dimensions, but those are not EU specific.
"News For Fans of Sonic The Hedgehog"
Do they have any fans left?
@SLIGEACH_EIRE They sure lost a good amount of them when they confirmed the DC death.
Think i will check it out if i remember it tomorrow
Alright, let's hope it's something good.
SEGA is better at disappointing their fans than Nintendo, so I have really low expectations for this.
Nowhere in that press release does it say it's good news, of course...
Thomas is the one behind this newspost... why doesn't this surprise me?
"we'll be unveiling news for EU fans of Sonic The Hedgehog!"
Only European fans?
Maybe it's the Sonic 25th anniversary game announcement!
It'll just be a 3D Classic announced for Europe or something like that. I ain't buying into ANY hype for anything Sega has to say these days.
@Ninten-San
No Nintendo lets down fans more, Sega put a great effort in their 3D classics but what does Ninty do, drop roms of 25 year old tech that can only be played on new 3ds, and segas 3d are cheaper and not an obvious cash grab.
Can't wait!
Yes! So we don't have to wait until next month. I'll have to watch this after work, though. No live stream for me.
@Zach777 SAYGA!
Phantasy Star classic 3D ........Oh and Shining in the darkness classic 3D...... I really wish sega would get back into consoles
@Royalblues if you have a 3ds they included a 3D version of Puyo Puyo. It looks awesome. You either buy it in Eshop or buy a cartridge at GameStop. The other classic 3D games are awesome too. You get 8 games on 1 cart for 29 bucks
I wonder if SEGA will give any Project DIVA news... Nah, probably not. I can hope, though.
They promise to cease churning out hamstrung Sonic games and work on a new Phantasy Star?
@Tender_Cutlet You honestly think every Sonic game is "churned out and hamstrung?" They barely even make games anymore.
Hopefully it's something interesting. I'd like to see just... I don't something about the next game.
@Orca You have it in writing.
SMT IV Apocalypse release date please.
PLEASE SEGA PLEASE A NON-BOOM SONIC GAME
@Rexx a hug ?
@GameOtaku Do you remember Sonic the Hedgehog's 25th Anniversary SXSW Panel and the "Special Reveal"? There was no "Special Reveal". Everyone was so disappointed!
Sega Europe news.
Not about bringing Atlus games.
About Soanic za Herdgeblorg.
Yeah.
Is it going to coincide with Nintendos new 3ds IP for a reason?
I want Football Manager on Wii U.
so far it pretty good stuff to bad it not for wii u or 3ds
The announcement was a contest for EU fans....not sure what I expected...
Seriously did was it . well i think the price for worst e3 stream will go to sega this year
Sega, how do you manage to keep failing? You have so many great unused franchises and you have Atlus... then how do you spend E3?
