PixelMaker arrived on the European Wii U eShop on 28th April, and now Nostatic Software has confirmed it's hitting the North American store this week on 5th May; it'll cost $2.99 in the US.
Having previously brought us VoxelMaker, Nostatic now seems to be taking the same approach to producing pixel art. At a budget price this promises the ability to utilise the GamePad for producing scenes of pixel art, which can then naturally be shared to Miiverse. A screen showing the differing GamePad / TV views is below, along with a list of features that will be available.
- Zoom in on the GamePad while seeing your whole scene on the TV.
- Cut/Copy/Paste selections with flip and rotate options.
- Fill by selection, flood-fill or replace all of a color.
- Draw and erase with multiple brush sizes.
- Pixel-perfect line and stroke drawing modes.
- Support for multi-layer drawing, with layer visibility toggles.
- Undo/Redo and image auto-save and restore.
- Palette-based color management with a number of classic samples.
- Pick colors interactively from the image.
- Optional grid overlay.

I'm definitely tempted. It's way cheaper then getting a pad and stuff for my computer.
No RGB color picker? If people can't pick their colors with 100% accuracy through an RGB type color picker, then what's the point? o.o
If you can make images and save them on your computer then I'll be getting this since I like to make my own pixel designs a lot.
Well, it sounds like it'll be better than pixel paint at least. I spent $5 for it and it had less functionality than Microsoft Paint.
Once you go GraphicsGale, you don't go back.
That other pixel wiiu software was disappointing-- Not buying another one... :T
@Neeyahaha A lot of pixel artists use a mouse or trackball.
Also the second best software is free: https://graphicsgale.com/us/
The best software is 59$: http://www.cosmigo.com/promotion/index.php
What's Blendin from Gravity Falls doing here!?
@TobiasAmaranth PixelMaker does have a color picker. It has a visual hue/saturation/brightness interface, as well as allowing exact RGB values to be specified.
Where's the pixel Maker for the 3ds?!
