Those that enjoy watching the Japanese Nintendo Direct broadcasts will be vaguely familiar with The Battle Cats POP!, or as many of us have referred to it - "that weird-looking game with cartoon cats". The good news is that we'll get to experience it for ourselves in good time.

Kyoto-based developer PONOS has confirmed that it's bringing the strategy game to the West soon.

It's always looked rather like Swords & Soldiers, albeit with particularly jazzy music and lots of cats:
