Back in late February, Inti Creates announced that Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 was on its way to the 3DS. The sequel to 2014's Mega Man-inspired Azure Striker Gunvolt, this promised to offer more hyperactive 2D shooting action to gamers on the go. Then, a couple weeks ago, it was announced that there would be a special presentation for the game on the 26th, with Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune making an appearance.
It has now been brought to light that – at least in Japan – there will be a retail release that contains both Azure Striker Gunvolt and its sequel, and it will be launching in Japan on 25th August. Also, it was revealed that this will be the day that Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 makes its first appearance on the eShop. Whether or not the western release will soon follow, or if there will be a retail release, still remains to be seen, but hopefully more information will soon be made available. Check out the announcement trailer for the physical package below:

I bought Azure Striker Gunvolt on the last day it was discounted, which just happened to be when my Nintendo launched So I don't need this.
I'll be keeping my eye on this, the first game was pretty fun.
I was literally just about to buy the first one.... no I am stuck in non-gunvolt limbo until I know this is/isn't coming west
@abe_hikura I highly suggest, if you haven't already, to get Dillion's Rolling Western in the meantime. I recently replayed it(got it at launch but forgot about it until recently going through my downloads). It's pretty good game and super underrated.
The sequel looks awesome the first title was a surprise to me the amount of depth was amazing and the sequel looks better can't wait .
@Zoda_Fett I always hoped we'd get an HD Dillon game on the Wii U eShop, but I doubt that it will happen now. I loved both of those games.
Will totally buy this if it comes west. I skipped the original simply due its digital-only release, so crossing my fingers!
Also, amusing how the original Japanese name of the series "Armed Blue: Gunvolt" was zested up for the West as "Azure Striker: Gunvolt".
@Zoda_Fett looking at my purchase history it appears that like you I bought it and never played... thanks for sorting out my afternoon plans
30 fps was a HORRIBLE choice for this series. The entire game looks and feels unpleasantly jerky due to the low framerate. And it's not like the game's graphics are impressive, either! There was no excuse for the Azure Gunvolt games to be 30 fps.
I am up for a physical release.
A physical release would be nice considering I haven't played the first one yet, though I may just get it on Steam depending how the Summer Sale goes.
i already got the first one but it will be a great chance to catch up with the series (well for newbie that is)!
It's a fun game (the first one). I would buy the physical card if it gets released in the West when the sequel is available.
