As discovered recently, in an article that also had 'cute' in the headline, the Wolf Link amiibo unlocks a rather charming mystery mushroom outfit in Super Mario Maker. It might as well, too, as there seem to outfits for every other darn thing Nintendo and its partners can think of - that's not a complaint, but an observation.
In any case, Nintendo has published an official video for the figure, with that whooshy yellow background intro everyone likes, to show off the little pixel Wolf Link and Midna. In this case it's used to plug the upcoming release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, and hopefully an accompanying event course will unlock the character for those without the amiibo.
We rather like this design, in any case. Now where's that Shovel Knight outfit? We're sick of the 'not compatible' message when we try to scan our amiibo...

Didn't know wolves barked that much. Shows how much I know. Will have to try it out when I pick mine up tomorrow.
I think that's the first new amiibo to be added since release. Correct me if I'm wrong
I'm sick of 8-bit graphics in 2016.
Kudos to Nintendo though for unlocking these without making us buy the amiibo, amiibo acting as a shortcut to unlock them or earning them in game is a nice compromise.
Amen for Shovel Knight! I'd like to see them at costumes for every amiibo that releases while the game is still receiving updates.
@rjejr Well what you are sick of, and what the rest of us like are two different things. Thankfully.
Got my TP preordered on Amazon!
Ah, the completely forgettable and generic music of Twilight Princess!!! This dog-barkin' costume better be unlockable without the amiibo.
@Gobelee I was just responding to the last sentence of the article -
"Now where's that Shovel Knight outfit? We're sick of the 'not compatible' message when we try to scan our amiibo..."
why would we need an event course? just do the 100 mario mode unless they made an event corse for this, then the amiibo is just for lazys...
