If the challenge of simply getting through the gruelling levels of Mutant Mudds Super Challenge isn't enough for you there are a range of hidden characters to track down. Today we have the official reveal of the Shovel Knight character.
Jools Watsham, creator of the game, today drew back the curtain on how exactly to find Shovel Knight. Watsham is also offering special Mutant Mudds posters for lucky winners who tweet a selfie with Shovel Knight and the tag #MutantMuddsSuperChallenge.
Once you have found the character, revealed in the video here, you can then select him to play through Mutant Mudds Super Challenge to your heart's content. (No shovel attacks spotted yet though.)

It would have been cool to unlock him using the amiibo too lol. Max from Mutant Mudds needs an amiibo too
EDIT: Scanning the Max amiibo could give you access to all the power ups for the rest of the level or something (still need to pick this game up)

The bigger of the 'Indies' sure are sticking together. Haven't some of these guys been featured in other games too?
He needs a Mario Maker costume already. I've got his amiibo sitting here just waiting to be scanned in my Shovel Knight themed levels.

I've found lots of other cool characters so far some of which I totally expected to find. I haven't found a Xeodrifter costume yet, but I bet there's one there!
My favourite is the Teslamancer and then Rusty, i did play quite a bit as Shovel Knight though. I have to find some time to play as Xeodrifter but you get him so late.
What I don't get is why is shovel knights head so big in mutant mudds.

I only found 3 of the secret characters during my playtrough and Shovel Knight wasn't one of them.
@Luffymcduck A small tip, and i'll try not to make it a spoiler but there is a certain mark that lets you know where they are, and they are only found in certain types of levels which i'm sure you know if you've found 3. If you know what to look for and where they're pretty easy to find tbh.

I found them by accident and only knew about that spot after watching this video.
The video didn't seem to explain how to select the characters... Abe or Captain Viridian are the way forward!
Awesome, he didn't get a chance for Smash Bros. but at least he's still active at other games.
@DefHalan i dont collect amibo but i would buy this just because i think he has the perfect looks for a little toy.
@Drac_Mazoku somehow this made me want a Shantae amiibo or figure.
