Toy maker Tomy has been part of the Pokémon story from the very beginning, working with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company to produce a wide range of related merchandise, including action figures and plush toys.
To mark the 20th birthday of the series, Tomy is really pushing the boat out by collaborating with select retail partners in North America on a line of exclusive releases.
From February to December 2016, Tomy will unleash a different Mythical Pokémon at Toys "R" Us, GameStop, and Walmart. Some of these will be 8-inch plush toys (made from "a special crushed velvet material", no less) while others will take the form of 2-inch "pearlescent-finished" figures with their own unique Pokéballs. That's not all, though - various limited-edition Pikachu products will also be sold as retailer-exclusives throughout 2016.
While this information relates to North America, we're assuming these products will eventually make their way to other regions as well. We hope you've got plenty of pennies saved up.

Hm. This might be a good time to collect a few of these throughout the year.
Or go to Japan and tour the Pokemon Centers. Something I've done more than once.
Can't wait to see the Lugia and Rayquaza toys!
I choose you, PokéPlushies!
Waiting for another and cute Meloetta Plush!!! XD
I already have A Mew plushy. I love stuffed animals
There goes more money
Mew in a great ball at gamestop then. $10 too.
I know it isn't a legendary pokemon, but could someone let me know if a giant Clefable plushie pops into existence.
@GauBan
A dangerous activity that.
If someone makes an articulated pickachu for my Smash action figure shelf, I may explode.
...I LOVE stuffed animals. Must hide wallet...
I've started collecting a few of Tomy Pokemon figures to go with my amiibo. Right now I've got Mega Charizard Y, Spiky Eared Pichu, and Pikachu wearing Red's hat. If something neat or interesting comes up I'll likely pick a couple more of these figures up.
@Franklin Yes it is. There are so many Pochamas (Piplup) & monthly Pikachus in my house people would think we had kids.
@GauBan
Yes, I don't recommend visiting the Pokemon Center just an hour before a train journey.
I wouldn't recommend going to part of Japan just to visit it's Pokémon Center. Oh wait yeah I would and have done more than once. LOL
