It has to be said the humble Wii U isn't exactly overrun with games from the first person shooter genre, so FPS fans will no doubt be intrigued to hear that developer Midnight Status is bringing a game called Swap Fire to the Wii U eShop for you to blast your friends in.
Described as a "Couch-Multiplayer/Puzzle-FPS" this is obviously not a conventional FPS. Shooting your opponent opens up a wormhole which swaps your positions, the aim then is to oust your opponent off the edge in Drop Zone or dominate the map in Control Point.
You can also sharpen your skills in Story Mode or go for gold in Soccer. Take a look at the footage from the game below and let us know what you think. You can also find some more information about this upcoming game in an interview which 8-Worlds News recently conducted with the developer.

If the price is right then sure, looks fun for when friends are over.
Nice "Quake 3 Arena" vibe on that map...
Is the story mode gonna be like an actual single player campaign with levels where you have to solve puzzles and traverse the map using the swapping mechanic, or is just gonna be like the multiplayer mode with bots?
Seems a little too disorienting.
Will it have online also?
So it's almost like Portal. Interesting.
@accc Id like to know as well
If it has online multiplayer as well as fun interesting, and flat out greatly designed maps then this could be a huge hit. I mean its like a FPS version of portal and it could be very fun. And it could have a ton of multiplayer options like team matchs, death matchs, racing to see who can solve the puzzles and escape some prison area first. It could be very fun and I hope they do it well
Very nice news! Sounds like a fun concept, and I'd love more FPS multi action on my Wii U! Cool graphics too.
Color me intrigued.
This has the same problem I have with "Splatoon": The main objective isn't shooting the other players. No, thank you.
Sounds a bit like Portal.
@Dazza: Why isn't there a new article about this? It will be released shortly!
