The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is only a couple months away from releasing, but most details surrounding the remaster are still unknown. After the initial Nintendo Direct where it was revealed, most new information has only come by way of rumours, with nothing being set in stone yet. It appears that this is set to change in the near future, as Nintendo's Japanese account for the series has indicated.
Eiji Aonuma recently made a few posts explaining how there will be art, discussions, and news relating to the game being regularly doled out for the near future. He then handed the mic off to Malo - an in-game character - who will act as the host for all the future tweets relating to this information. While there still isn't an English equivalent for these posts, there'll likely be something coming soon. In the meantime, here's the text from the original posts translated, courtesy of Nintendo Everything.
Hello, this is Aonuma. This year the world of Twilight returns in HD after 10 years. From today we'd like to introduce information on Twilight Princess for a while.
Twilight Princess is a story about the 2 worlds of 'Light' and 'Darkness'. The game's scale was getting bigger, and at the early stages of the original [GameCube version], we drew a lot of setting scenes. We also plan to publish [things like] discussions and [hidden] treasured images at times, so please look forward to them! The introductions from now on will be brought by Malo who appears in this game. Malo, I'm leaving it to you!
…I'm Malo. I may look like this, but I'm the owner of 'Malo Mart', the hero of prices. …I won't forgive you if you think I'm a child and ridicule me [because of that]…
What do you think? Are you looking forward to the new insights this will hopefully bring? What do you want to see tweaked for this release? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

I hope this doesn't disprove the idea of a Nintendo Direct in the near future...
@Not_Soos
Oh dude u just made me want new Nintendo direct even more. I mean we should be getting one soon right?!
Can you use the Game Pad for the controls? I will be interested if you can, but not if you have to use the Wii controls still.
Of all the characters in the game, it had to be Malo? -_-' I'd rather put up with Agitha.
Hero of prices lol Malo's face kind of scared me. I really want to punch it even though he's a baby.
@Bass_X0 yes you can, this is a new build and not a direct port of either CG/Wii version (though its a crapton closer to GC)
Can't wait to see Malos ugly face in he highest of definitions.
I would be interested to see if they include the wii remotes "waggle mechanics" and how that would be implemented as link is back to being left handed? Which means it's probably a GC port, uses a normal controller (not remote) and the map will be the wrong way around for all of those who played it on Wii. Can't wait
@ICHIkatakuri I suspect they could have two games in one (just like Master Quest). One mirrored with Wii version and one GCN
@MitchVogel: I don't mean this as criticism, but rather as a curious question: What "details surrounding the remaster are still unknown"? We're talking about a remake here, all the details to the game are already known. And the few subtle changes... well, they are few and I think (assume) we know most of them now. The amiibo dungeon, a few other minor changes etc.
I don't think there are any more details to know, it will still be the same game and if there are some other tiny changes, we will notice them (or maybe not, since they're so tiny and the game is 10 years old) while playing the remake.
@shani it's still not officially announced that there is a new dungeon to unlock with the Wolf amiibo.
I take it we will get both gamecube and Wii controls? As in both versions on the one disc. Then master quest of both?
Will there be a shop like on 'link between worlds'? So we can buy things since we will be able to carry more money in wallets? Is there more added to Hyrule fields? As it's pretty bare.
Are the horse mechanics going to be updated? Not like they say in zelda u, but just a bit more' un-stiff'? Will there be new enemy's at all throughout the total 80hour game? Lot of empty space in TP isn't there?
I only played this a year ago for the first time (WII version) absolutely loved all of it, so I don't get why people didn't like it much. I played skyward sword after is and I found that one boring and hated the Wii motion plus, got near the end, it was a great game in its own right of course, bit as a Zelda, kinda poor in my opinion.
There is so much they can add and update in TP, I hope they really use this opportunity to do so for the full price they ask for. HD update us only a small part of this re-release to me, and on the 30th anniversary, I wanna be impressed Ninty
I'd much rather get new information about the new Zelda, not one we mostly know of that might get the odd tweak here or there...
@Trinexx Agitha's not annoying! (well outside of before you get her level 3 weapon in Hyrule Warriors, her and Ruto are pretty weak before that point)
@shani Usually I'd agree, but we don't really know if they're basing this on the Cube or Wii version. What controller options do we have? Is the world flipped like the wii version?
@readyletsgo I would answer all questions with 'no'. Not that I know anything, but it would really surprise me if they changed that much (also, none of those things really interest me). It's only a remake! They didn't change much in Wind Waker either, like the fetch quest etc. It would be too much effort for a remake. They have to develop other games, too, you know.
And for the amiibo dungeon, I couldn't care less about it.
I also only played only the Wii version, but I have to say, I liked Skyward Sword a lot more than Twilight Princess. Not only were the motion controls in SS fully functional and enriched the gaming experience (the fights against Ghirahim! All those gadgets!). I also liked how you could improve your items when you collected the necessary items in the world, like in other "real" RPG's on PC (although I'm not an RPG player at all). I also liked the design of the world better and last, but not least, the story was way more epic than that of TP. There were so many memorable situations/scenes in SS while I almost remember nothing from TP except the ending (but that may be due to watching youtube videos).
So for me, SS was a much better Zelda game than TP. But I know there are people out there who see it differently. ^^
@datamonkey: Exactly! Those subtle tweaks don't really make a difference anyway. (I think) It's more like the original version was the 1.0 and the HD remake is the 1.2 or something. Not really worth mentioning.
@Peach64: Who cares? Does it make a difference whether it's left or right-sided? And I can tell you right now that it will support the Wii U gamepad. That's all anyone needs to know.
It wouldn't surprise me if the Wiimotes were supported, too, but since TP (Wii) didn't make any real use of it, it doesn't matter. Maybe TP HD also supports racing wheels? This would make equally sense (none).
The only news that I would consider significant would be if they would actually implement real motion controls like in SS. But I doubt it, since that would mean they would have to rewrite everything in the game's code.
Disclaimer: These are all assumptions (although based on facts), so I could be wrong. But I doubt it in this case.
Malo hu? I gotta admit, my memories of TP are blurried, but one thing I remember clearly is that Malo is a terrible scary monster, even Ganondorf is a lamb in comparison!
I guess Aonuma is trying to make us like that nightmarish kid before the remake release, but it won't work!
This sounds negitive but it's hype. And if all we have had up to now is rumours then these rumours and the hype can have a negitive effect.
So far I understand that we are getting a 10 year old game which has been given a bit of a makeover and happens to be a Zelda game. And it is being sold at the price of a brand new game; it has additional content which sounds good until you find out that the good old Amiibo raises its ugly head, and yes that extra content is not to boost the attraction of buying the old game, it is to sell Amiibos at £10 to £15. So it an expensive extra bit of content.
Or course this is just hype but already I am not interested in the game or giving Nintendo my hard earned cash just to help them cover their losses.
What would make me think about buying it? A £30.00 price tag or below, the extra content included and no Amiibo involvement.
And yes having promised gamers a new Zelda they are now holding it back, for the NX and Zelda TP is the poor consolation prize.
@zool totally agree! A remaster should be €39 max. Amiibo are a big fat scam and people are starting to realise this since the summer last year. The idea of a new dungeon is exciting to me but I'm sure it's a short dungeon and costs (in reality) €15 as 'dlc'.
It should come with the new dungeon regardless since its a 10 year old game.
And @shani you're prob right on all those points.
I'm part of the problem here though as I have perordered the amiibo/soundtrack etc.
Oh dear. So much butthurt around here, it's hilarious. XD
@zool Pretty much, dude. The game is going to have new content - which (kind of) justifies the full price - only then you find out that you've got to buy a silly little toy to unlock said content.
I think I'll wait a year or two before picking this one up. I still haven't finished WWHD tbf.
Malo is hysterical. Hero of prices. haha.
Eiji Aonuma - Where's the game you told us would be out in 2015? The one you should be talking about, that you haven't mentioned since Dec 2014, that still doesn't even have a name yet?
Seriously, shut up and get back to work until you have something to say about that game.
Aonuma's comment made me flash back to 2006, and I suddenly remembered how amazing Twilight Princess is. It's way too easy, and rupees become worthless early on, but it's still incredible. Hopefully they'll fix its few issues.
@readyletsgo Shoot, the whole game should be free! I mean, it's ten years old, right?
Looking forward to more concrete information about this magical, mystical game that we know almost nothing about that comes out in a little over a month.
Zelda U will have its day in the spotlight. Several days. Let's slow our roll a little bit on the "ZELDA U NEWS NOW!!!" stuff.
Im smelling a delay on this...please understand
@zool game is 60 with or without the amiibo.not really making money with the amiibo
I'm glad your not my accountant.
@Grumblevolcano: You're correct, she's just plain strange (and downright creepy if you leave her "palace" with some bugs). I'd rather put up with her weirdness versus Malo's annoying demeanor.
All I want to know is if that rumored Cave of Twilight is something akin to the ... Pit of Trials? Cave of Ordeals? Something like that, or an actual new place to faff about in for a while. I don't expect anything beyond that, and the game will be based off the GC version. Hunch.
@ICHIkatakuri which is the correct way and how the map was intended from the start, with the different areas in the game corresponding with the locations of Ocarina of Time if I'm not mistaken.
I'd say if they actually include both control schemes they won't include the mirrored world. Mirroring everything just so the player would waggle the same hand Link swings his sword with despite it really only registering as a button input was a pretty dumb idea the first time around and I'd say they have learned from that. But, I could be wrong.
@zool I'm glad you're not my English teacher hehe, just messin' with you... please don't hurt me.
"....if you think I'm a child." He's not a child? O_O
@Dr_Corndog why should a remaster be free?
@readyletsgo Still not announced, but if it's in Famitsu, it's almost the same as an official announcement: http://nintendoeverything.com/famitsu-sheds-light-on-zelda-twilight-princess-hds-amiibo-features/
Wait. Does that mean Malo isn't a child, but an adult...
Minor gripe, but it would be nice if it was 60fps...
Absolutely love the game, but don't know if I am willing to purchase the game again. Maybe if it was 40 bucks I would be more willing to pick it up but seeing as I already own the Gamecube version and don't think the game has aged poorly it really begs the question of whether or not I simply want a Wii U version of the game.
@Bass_X0 It will be Gamepad. This will be based on the GCN. I think a touch screen inventory has already been confirmed!
@MrPuzzlez Maybe. But a game like Zelda doesn't need 60fps. The real 60 fps issue was born on PC hardware, an inherent flaw be it driver or hardware means 30fps on PC never manages to be smooth like 30fps on console.
