Stella Glow is just a week away in North America, the latest exciting RPG release to be localised and released with some style by Atlus - originally developed by Imageepoch, this one puts music at the core of a wider adventure.
With its release so close and plenty of 3DS owners likely to have taken the demo for a spin, Atlus has now released its customary unboxing video of the gorgeous launch edition. Among its goodies is a cloth poster, so there are even tips for ironing out packaging creases; we're pretty sure we've never had to write that before.
You can see it below, with a nice and humorous opening from the enigmatic PR manager John Hardin, who's gone a bit Thomas Pynchon in hiding his face...

I'm only justifying this purchase because I can save 20% which brings the price back to normal for me. Otherwise I would wait for a sale as there's enough to buy this year. Can wait to play this though. The demo left me wanting more!
With Atlus it always the games I don't particularly care about get the coolest collector editions. This stuff looks really cool.
@Expa0 That's how they get you though...
I really loved the demo and the story it introduced, so I'll definitely pick this game up sooner or later. I've been itching for a tactical RPG for this past year anyway.
just waiting for the reviews and the digital price drop. Took persona Q about 5 months to drop to 20 bucks. Thanks for the video
@Spoony_Tech H-how did you get it down by 20%?!
While I'm really excited for this, I'm scared for another RF IV scenario happening to some games I was keeping an eye out for...
The game itself I could probably live without or delay purchasing for months.
I really, REALLY want that cloth poster though... I am such a sucker for the physical swag...
@TheWPCTraveler I belong to the Best Buy gamers club which saves me 20% off any new games for the next 2 years. It cost 30$ to join but I've already saved about 60$ so far. I also picked up Legend of Legacy for 32$. With the extra 20% off and a 10$ and 5$ reward I recently picked up Mario Maker for my son for less then 35$ out the door. I'm not sure there's any BB's in your area or if they would even offer that deal. I quit Gamestop because of this. I can also save 10% on Ammibos and the Lego Dementions packs.

That's $583.80 saved with Gamers Club Unlocked THIS YEAR ALONE, with several hundred dollars worth of recent purchases still pending that aren't reflected.
Not only that, but you get $10 in rewards for preordering most major AAA titles, double reward points for games as a GCU member (equal to 4% back) and ANOTHER 5% back if you use their credit card.
Then if you make Elite (spend $1500 in a year) or Elite Plus (spend $3500 in a year) you get 1.1 or 1.25x points, free shipping/free expidited shipping on ALL purchases, and point banking. Also can price match for 30 days with Elite and 45 days with Elite Plus.
***EDIT*** And GCU works on Amiibo too. $10.39 for MewTwo, $10.39 for Falco and $27.99 for Animal Crossing 3-Pack. Also any game bundles qualify too so the Fallout 4 Gold Bundle with season pass (normally GCU won't apply for digital but because it's bundled with the game, it does) is just $67.99. Heck they're running a special now where if you buy Fallout 4, Rise of the Tomb Raider or Black Ops 3 you get $25 off a game of your choice from a list (Halo 5 is best pick), which comes to just $23 after GCU and promo discount.
BestBuy is the ONLY place to buy games.
@JaxonH Dang and I just joined like less then a month ago. I'm getting all my games from them from now on as it's so totally worth it. I feel like I'm cheating somehow getting such great deals for only 30$. Well worth getting if you buy 2 60$ games it's almost paid for. I've already got Lego Dementions, Mario Maker, Yoshi's WW, Legend of Legacy, and one Lego pack so far. I'll be picking up SG and Xenoblade as well over the next month.

Can buy membership online but it still requires an in-store activation. But remember, you only have to do it once for 2 years (heck you could stack 2 and get 4 years all at once in one trip if you wanted).
Then just shop online from the comfort of your home with that discount. When it finally ends 2 years later, make another trip to the store.
@Spoony_Tech
Be sure to sign up for their credit card too. It's $5 back per hundred, on top of your 20% off and 4% back in points. It's free money for the taking, and if you take advantage of all the savings BB offers it adds up to be dang near half price games.
I just make all my purchases with the BBCC, then pay the bill right away. It's basically "cheating" as you said, but gets you an extra 5% back. And like in October, they made an offer for TEN PERCENT back with the CC. So I cancelled and re-ordered all my 50+ preorders. That was like $250 saved just from that offer alone.
@JaxonH They're sure making it hard for me to go all digital! Stella Glow is a game I would get in the past as a digital download but I can't ignore 20% off. I was also thinking of getting Yokai Watch and this just makes it that much easier to decide and I did have the thought of Dl'ing that as well. Its definitely renewed my interest in owning physical copies!

A word of advice, coming from someone who has ordered more BestBuy games than many play in a lifetime... Do in-store pickup for any games that come in a collectible cardboard case which you want to preserve without damage. Like Stella Glow Launch Edition (or any Atlus title). They ALWAYS come damaged in the mail, due to being shipped in a bubble mailer.
I learned this the hard way.
@JaxonH My friend always complained about his Ammibos shipped in the mail and the package getting ruined so for that reason alone I won't get those shipped.
I've not done so yet but can you go in store and pre-order to have it picked up at that store?
@Spoony_Tech
Why go in to preorder? Just order online and choose in-store pickup option during checkout! It'll ask you to select a store- if you haven't set your home store in your profile yet, just type your zip (or if on phone, turn on location accuracy setting when prompted).
I've actually had great luck with amiibo in the mail from BestBuy. They always come in a box for me, though I've heard others saying theirs came in bubble mailers (I've yet to see this despite ordering at least 25 amiibo from BestBuy to date).
Amazon, they're 50/50. Target, they will 100% mess your amiibo up. Cramming them in boxes too small and stuff like that. I NEVER order from Target unless I'm opening. Amazon JP (with forwarding service), always come mint. Amazon EU (IT, FR, UK, ES, DE) almost always come mint, except for Amazon.it (Italy). They're horrible. I haven't received one amiibo from them to date that wasn't crushed and bent all to hell.
Here I was ready to write this launch edition off, but the iridescent silky finish on that poster looks REALLY nice.
But damn it, Atlus, why can't you standardize the sizes on your wacky first-edition boxes? I like to think I'm pretty modest as hoarders go (I'm no Jaxon, that's for sure), but keeping all them oddball boxes around is pure OCD hell.
Looks lovely but I gave up buying their launch editions as it was just too expensive for what basically became shelf pieces due to the stupid region locking on the 3DS.
Also NISA Europe tends not to offer these editions for their EU releases of Atlus' games; apart from Persona Q but I think Nintendo may have had a hand in that one.
I like the demo.
