Additional information regarding the highly anticipated Pokkén Tournament was revealed during today's Nintendo Direct.
A new amiibo card was shown depicting Shadow Mewtwo, but will only be available in copies of the game during the first production run. This will allow players to unlock the character quicker rather than earning through gameplay.
Pokkén Tournament arrives in Spring 2016 on the Wii U.

Count me IN at launch!!
Mewtwo looking badass as always.
So it's to either unlock him with skill...or pay for him..NOT WITH ESHOP butt with a physical card.
If it cones out after April 20, THEN I'M IN!
Wow, first print edition with amiibo... card, oh, nevermind then.
Yep, I want that game and that card
I would gladly get that card, but I probably wouldn't use it. I'd instead try to get Dark Mewtwo on my own...what? The card is for my collection. Besides, who's to say it will only be used in Pokken Tournament?
Is it Spring yet?!
The hype for this game is real. It's been a while since I've regularly played a fighter aside from Smash, so this and Street Fighter V will definitely push me into the fighting genre again.
I'm still looking forward to Pokkén Tournament.
But that "Pre-Order DLC" is pointless.
Still looks dumb as hell. But hey, it fits. Awful design for an awful game.
Looks nice, but fighting games aren't really my cup of tea - got burned with Castlevania Judgment. I'll wait for reviews before deciding if I buy or not.
Looks like a great Pokemon game.
@Kaze_Memaryu How does the game look dumb? It looks fun!
Pokken looks really cool.
@Kaze_Memaryu
Isn't it kinda like Pokemon Stadium?
This game... I NEEEEEEEEED IT!
this game will be mine. I love Pokemon and fighting games. Getting this Mewtwo is just icing on the cake.
@Tempestryke Pokken is in an entirely different genre than Stadium. xD
@EmmatheBest Ah. Okay.
Just a shame they're still only using arcade footage and not Wii U footage, which makes me think delayed - I like the look of this game a lot though.
I was hoping to see more characters than the already teased Shadow Mewtwo, perhaps a look at some console exclusive gameplay modes, but it's nice to see Pokkén Tournament get a mention. I'll probably get one of the first print editions if I can, but unlocking Shadow Mewtwo early is not something that concerns me. I'm more interested to see if they'll reveal some Gen 5 or Gen 6 Pokémon, or generally just more Pokémon characters for the game.
@melvin2898 The Dark Mewtwo design looks like a 6-year-old trying to make an edgier version of it, not like a smart design in any sensible way. And the game looks nice, but I've seen several conclusions on the balancing, and it's just bad. A fighting game that has no balance is awful by default.
@Tempestryke Pokémon Stadium is simply a 3D environment for your Pokémon to fight in the same way as you know. This game, however, is a fighting game. Which means you fully control your Pokémon in real time.
Getting excited about this game hope its a hit.
