Monster Hunter X looks rather exciting, at least for established Monster Hunter fans. Utilising many of the models and visuals of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate albeit with some new environments and monsters, its approach is to shake up gameplay and blend the series' traditional approach with action-oriented options and fighting styles. MH4U already introduced the extravagances of the Insect Glaive and mounting, yet X goes much further.

It's coming to Japan this year, so despite the lack of localisation news as yet it means we can learn plenty about it. The title got plenty of coverage at last week's Tokyo Game Show, and now the excellent gaijin hunter YouTube channel has uploaded a translation of a recent Capcom showcase. In the presentation we see some Monster Arts in action but, more importantly, get a good look at the different (and new) fighting styles.

Check it out below; a temporary audio issue at the 4 minute mark clears quite quickly.

Considering the fact that Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate represented a positive sales performance in the West, hopefully this will make its way to the 3DS outside of Japan in 2016.
