Not too long ago Nintendo announced a promotional partnership with Facebook for Super Mario Maker. Beyond the PR-friendly Hackathon - in which Facebook employees designed levels, with the winner to be included in the game - it's a smart move, as potential marketing deals and promotion with Facebook will certainly be useful for the Wii U game.
That's all - hopefully - to come, but the actual Hackathon has taken place. Nintendo of America has released some promotional shots of smiling Facebook employees playing the game; they sure are happy. Nintendo Treehouse member Corey Olcsvary and Bill Trinen also pop up.
It'll be interesting to see whether this tie-in with Facebook will boost awareness around the exciting level-creation game, but in the meantime you can gawk at the official snaps below.

Cool, having an extra pre made level in the game sounds fun. I wonder what criteria they used to decide on the best one.
I guess the last image is of the guy who won then, huh?
Best face of Bill Trinen so far.
Super Mario Bros: The facebook Levels
Swell, I guess.
Hasn't this game gone gold yet? That release date is fast approaching. IGN might know. . .
Nintendo and Facebook are good friends now. They are working together to bring Occulus Rift to NX. Sony's Morpheus is doom!
can you make scrolling levels, like the airship levels in SMB3? or go vertical like the cloud level in SMB3 as well? I'm excited for this game but not aware of the limitations.
@Blastcorp64
I know you can have scrolling levels, and can even set the speed it scrolls at. I know there's a certain degree of verticality to the levels but not a ton.
When the NX comes out I hope they have all these marketing plans and tie ins so people know the thing actually exists.
The title says someone won but the article doesnt reference anyone winning. Is it the pictures with no captions?
I guess the details are supposed to come later...
@Revolution909 "When the NX comes out I hope they have all these marketing plans and tie ins so people know the thing actually exists."
@Blastcorp64 I hope that they will have a lot of features, they will need them to compete with the likes of Super Mario Bros. X which is a less-polished but more featured SMM for FREE. I don't know about scrolling levels but they have a lot of other cool features, I know that you can add a great many items by messing with what's possible.
And the winner is?????????
They look like they're having fun... I wanna play too!
I think its bad that they do something with Fakebook. And besides, Hackathon sounds evil in my opinion.
Saw the Question Mark Box Ottomans in the background, wants all of them right now!
