The Dark Pit amiibo will be exclusive to Best Buy in North America, it would seem.
Searching for the figure on Best Buy's site reveals an "Only at Best Buy" label on the product page.
The figure launches alongside fellow Kid Icarus alumni Palutena later this month - there's currently no word on whether or not that one will be retailer-exclusive as well.
Will you be placing an order for the emo version of Pit? Let us know.

This sucks for Americans, and I'm glad there isn't amiibo retailer exclusives in the UK.
Ugh... so tired of retailer exclusives.
I find it so weird that North America is so far behind on the amiibo schedule compared to Europe when they originally launched over there a few weeks before Europe
@benjamines It's still probably a decent idea. I mean all they have to do is deal with certain retailers on certain amiibo. It wouldn't be spread out so thin.
wtf? Nintendo, come ON.... oh and just because a character has an dark twin/doppelganger does not mean that character is "emo". smh
Dark Pit isn't wearing skinny jeans, neither is he listening to Blood on the Dance Floor or My Chemical Romance while pretending to be depressed because some girl he's creepin' on doesn't like him.
Odd choice for exclusivity, I would have expected Zero Suit Samus or Ganondorf.
I'm so thankful that the UK does not have this exclusivity nonsense though.
Dark Pit is a great looking amiibo actually, glad to have it along with Pit, I'm a huge fan of Kid Icarus Uprising.
Oi! Like, Dark Pit is NOT emo, he's just misunderstood! GAWD! [ahem]
Joking aside, DP is an exclusive, eh? I'm surprised the retailer exclusives are still a thing over there; I'm thankful that that's not the case here in the UK. With any luck, the stock improvement that have been happening here will be apparent there as well.
I somehow ended up with double Dark Pit... Anybody up for sale?
But why?
Sorry Americans
Did expect that since we're only getting two amiibo this month. But then again they might be having the re-releases too so…. I got nothing. At least I can use my BB Card and reward points for this.
I'll go with what Hades said and say Pit (Dark Pit)is looking Goth.
@rjejr
I am glad you really don't care about most amiibo. I will get the European version of this one instead of trying to hunt one.
Also, I will say it from today: Happy Birthday! Since I only know it is on July I start from day 1. Have a great month!
@TruenoGT
Palutena is easily the weakest amiibo of this wave, her face just looks off.
The rest of her details are okay though, the hair is a huge lump of plastic though.
The problem is that retailer exclusives are paid for. It's a way to offset losses from stock that sits on shelves ad-infinitum, I guess. From a consumer point of view I hate it and I'd rather see at the very least timed exclusives like DI does it. Yes, they have retailer exclusives, too, but then they just go everywhere. All but those bizarre and ugly only-a-collector-could-like-it crystal DI figures.
Anyway, the fact that it's Dark Pit could be good as it's not like some of the other bigger properties. I just hope they make tons of them. I don't even have Pit yet.
Oh, for God's sake!
And this is why I just import the darn things. 20 bucks or headache? I'll take the 20 bucks.
Already imported mine from Japan. Sure, I paid a little bit extra, but I'm glad I don't have to fight to get one. Worth it.
I really hope they have enough stock for Dark Pit but since it seems like every amiibo I really want becomes rare I guess I'm not getting him.
WOW, Reggie. Your promises of better days just went out the window. Business as usual for Amiibo stock. The best buy exclusive figures in my town have been the most nightmare product to get. The store is just stalked by everyone and their grandma come amiibo ship day. Dark Pit was "the one" I wanted. This exclusivity has put me off due to past experience.
What does NoA think they're doing? Two amiibo in one wave and they offer one as an exclusive to freakin best buy?! Well I'm glad I imported them now. shakes head in disgust Best of luck to everyone else.
@DreamOn You can still get him, just import him.
So in other words, it is another amiibo I need to just import from Japan...
Thanks NoA, glad this amiibo thing is going so well.
@TruenoGT
I have her and she's absolutely stunning in person, the detailing on her is insane from her gauntlets, the patterns and folds on her dress, her brooch and leaf crown, the wings on the back of her shield and the red cord, the straps and buckles and sandals and her hair has that big strands look in the back. Pictures do not do her justice.
I feel for all my Amerifriends. The retail exclusive crap is really annoying. Glad we don't have it in Germany.....yet!
Good thing there is no such thing as exclusiveness in Canada.
Nintendo and their increasingly annoying and useless mouthpiece, Reggie, have been talking it up about how bad they feel about how they've handled the Amiibo supply situation, how they are trying to make sure it doesn't happen anymore and how they are trying to make sure that everyone can get the Amiibos they want... and then they continue to pull the same ignorant crap. This exclusive b.s. is tired and hated as much as, if not more than scalpers and Nintendo's manipulation of stock levels (and no... I don't believe you when you say that Nintendo isn't helping to create the shortages, Reggie... I don't believe half of the corporate crap that comes out of your mouth). This is why I stopped collecting them.
That sucks. The closest Best Buy to me is an hour away.
Good thing i never liked him or the game he came from.
>not hot topic
I've about given up on amiibo. Nintendo way of handling this is catering more to scalpers and hardcore collectors instead of the average fan.
@Tsusai You know this could have been set up Months in advance and it's too late to pull out of the deals, right? Just like with making the amiibo, Nintendo can't just change stuff at the drop of a hat. Believe me I know this is infuriating, but Nintendo isn't a giant evil cooperation trying to crush the little guy.
Anywho if anyone has the extra cash I would advise ordering from the Japanese amazon site. I ordered my Palutena amiibo for 1,000 yen (Currently $7 USD) and payed $7 for 7 day shipping. Basically a dollar more then what I would have paid for if I went to Best Buy or Gamestop. Dark Pit I got for $15 and Zero Suit Samus for $17 with a 7 day shipping for $7 for both. They also have Ness and Marth for 2,000 yen ($17 USD) and they've been like that for a couple weeks now.
Oh god, ANOTHER store exclusive? NoA, you really suck sometimes.
Well... glad I've grabbed mine from Japan.
And emo? Seriously? Even Hades called him Goth - there's a difference. That, and I see him as more akin to Shadow the Hedgehog than an emo.
@Uzuki how do you order from the amazon Japanese site becuase I try log in but won't let me.
Dance puppets dance!!
@JCD_15 You have to create a new account with Amazon of Japan. I recommend Tenso for shipping.
http://www.tenso.com/en/
So how much is Best Buy paying Nintendo for this?
@Uzuki okay how do you add money to your account and does the U.S money converts into Japanese money?
@Uzuki okay how do you add money to your account and does the U.S money converts into Japanese money?
I wish everyone else good luck in hunting this down at your local Best Buy. I'll continue admiring my imported Dark Pit and Palutena. It's worth the extra cost to avoid headaches and enjoy them early.
@Peach64 - "I find it so weird that North America is so far behind on the amiibo schedule "
It makes perfect sense to me. NA gets 2/3 of all amiibo sales. That means they need to make and ship twice as many to NA as anywhere else.
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/05/nintendo_has_shipped_105_million_amiibo_worldwide
So to make sure they have a noticeable amount of stock for each region, better to get the smaller quantities out of the door faster and first, collect their money,then slowly build up a larger quantity for the US shipment. There are a lot of Walmart, Target, TRU and Gamestops to ship them too in the US. Geographical size and population aside I'm guessing we have proportionally more retailers as well. All of America is a big box store strip mall.
Maybe they needed to get them out fast and furious before Christmas in the US, but I don't think it matters for the summer and fall.
I'm also convinced that's why we have to wait for Yoshi, more yarn amiibo.
I wonder if Devil's Third has it's own amiibo line.
@sinalefa - Working on the great month, starting out today by doing nuthin.
@Ichiban - You're always good for a laugh, but that comment is the best fitting one yet for your devil Joey avatar.
SIGH.
Well, I guess this is another Amiibo I won't be getting! No Best Buy anywhere near me. I really don't understand why Nintendo continues to shaft NA on things. No big amiibo restocks, store exclusive amiibo, Woolly World not released until October, lame Club Nintendo rewards compared to everywhere else...
I really need to figure out how to do this Amazon importing thing that everyone talks about. I'd gladly pay a few extra bucks to guarantee I get an amiibo but I just don't know enough about the process.
@Peach64 The US is likely behind the UK in amiibo production in order to try and manufacture more for release, though it seems that this makes no difference as the resellers are the only ones lucky enough to buy them here. So as some have said, Dark Pit will likely be exclusive to eBay and Amazon marketplace in the US.
@benjamines:
No wonder there are so many people complaining about Amiibo stock, I guess most of them are from the US?
It feels like every other day you read something about an exlusive retailer deal on NL. Gold Mario, Silver Mario, etc.
In Europe (or more specifically, in Germany) we have no such exclusive deals, every Amiibo can be bought everwhere (if it isn't sold out yet ^^).
Maybe it's those exclusive retailer deals that make the Amiibos so hard to find in the US because the retailers keep the Amiibos for themselves (I mean: for their own employees)? I mean some retailers here do that, too, but at least they don't have the Amiibos exclusively.
@ikki5 Except that there is. Every exclusive amiibo in the US has remained exclusive in Canada with the exception of Rosalina. Jigglypuff became a Wal-Mart exclusive in Canada since we don't have Target.
Dang it N-life, Pittoo is not emo! What about him is emo? Nothing! Don't mix up goth with emo.
I already got mine from Japan, and it looks like it was a good call. Now I don't have to camp out.
@JCD_15 If you have a credit or debit card you can use that. It automatically converts from the yen to the american dollar. So 2,000 yen translate to $17 USD. You can purchase japanese gift card codes from various sites, but I recommend using play-asia.com
@NintyMan I think a reasonable guess for Palutena's exclusitivity is Walmart. Wave 3 had Shulk, MK, Lucario and Rosalina as exclusives at Gamestop, Best buy, Toys R Us, and Target respectively. The Mario series had Gold Mario as a Walmart exclusive. Wave 4 had Ness, Greninja and Jigglypuff as GS, TRU, and Target exclusives respectively. And now Best Buy picked up Dark Pit as their exclusive. So to date the exclusive count is as follows
Gamestop-2
Best Buy-2
Toys R Us-2
Target-2
Walmart-1
So it's most likely Palutena will be Walmart since they haven't had more than 1 so far.
Oh, sweet. A retailer exclusive. Since it worked out so well before... even after several warning flags. Tch.
#Pittoonotemo #Campingoutforamiibos #again

Looks like I gotta wait all night for a figure, hopefully Palutena is not an exclusive........And if she is, Best Buy exclusive then : P
Holy crap, lmao, they seriously just said emo. Screw this site I'm done lol.
This is depressing.
This means that any country in NA without a Best Buy just aint getting it right?
Oh boy. Here we go again. I could have sworn Reggie said they'd do a better job with amiibo, or something.
It's crazy to see all of the disappointing stories of people not being able to get pre-ordered amiibo, exclusivity problems, etc. That's too much for me to get even slightly involved in.
Time to import I guess. Thanks Nintendo! /s
@crimsontadpoles that's true.
