Whether it's through covering songs or acting like lunatic plumbers in public, the Super Mario series has inspired people to express their love in all kinds of ways. Nintendo's Digital Event wrapped up with an occasionally awkward but overall charming video compilation showcasing some silly examples, but it wasn't all just for fun. The company's final announcement introduced us to a new campaign; in aid of the non-profit Operation Smile organization.
The "Let's Super Mario" campaign invites fans to celebrate Mario's birthday by submitting videos to a new website, where songs, sketches, cosplay and creative artwork is all encouraged. It doesn't matter if you're swinging your hips from side to side or taking one step and then again, just DO THE MARIO and Nintendo will donate to Operation Smile in honour of the moustachioed man himself.
We're sure to see plenty of further details in the days and weeks to come, but check out the compilation video below and start thinking up some ideas of your own! It's all for a very good cause.

After today, im not really in the mood to celebrate anything :/
I celebrate mario when nintendo does....they could have made it bigger than that.
At least Nintendo is doing at least one good thing for the world today. :/
Announce a new 3D Mario, and I will get down on my knees, suck Mario's beanstalk, and share it with the world. That's not gonna happen though, because Nintendo's not announcing a new 3D Mario.
Wouldn't it be great if the added "Wooly" to the list of game play styles for Super Mario Maker?
I would but this article links to a site that doesn't exist which means I can't get more details.
I am thinking about doing a video of some sort. As I watched the event a second time I remembered playing my first game (super mario bros) when I was three and a half with my mother. Thanks for all the great memories Nintendo, looking forward to 30 more years.
@NintendoFan990 Agreed.
