Koei Tecmo has revealed that the Western release of the 3DS title Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 3 will not come with the unique Zelda-themed content that launched alongside the Japanese edition.
When the game was released in Japan, Link and Zelda outfits - lifted from the Wii U brawler Hyrule Warriors - could be unlocked in the by playing a special demo.
Sadly, Siliconera has asked the publisher about the chances of these costumes being in the Western edition of the game and has been told that they are Japan-exclusive.
Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 3 launches in North America on June 30th, with the European release happening a few days sooner on June 24th. Will this news impact your purchasing decision? Let us know by posting a comment.

Yet Zelda is more popular in the west than it is in Japan, makes no sense.
Kinda dumb. What better way to generate interest to what is an obscure release (in the west) than with a mammoth series like Zelda. Terrible marketing.
"Sadly, Siliconera has asked the publisher about the chances of these costumes being in the Western edition of the game and has been told that they are Japan-exclusive."
A bit of an awkward sentence. It makes it seem like it is not just sad that they were told they are Japan-exclusive, but that it is also sad that they asked about it in the first place...
Why would they intentionally withhold something like a costume? That seems spiteful.
They don't want money?
But it wouldnt be the first time Koei gives in to fan demands.
Dynasty Warriors 7 shipped without the japanese sound files due to disc space issues (on the 360, although the PS3 version was also cut).
Fans said they wanted it and Koei provided a several GB big free download afterwards.
It could also be licensing issues, that they only secured a linsense contract for japan at a development stage, where a western release was just not planned.
I wouldnt rule it out completely, but i also wouldnt hold my breath.
Silly, but oh well. Doesn't really impact my anticipation for this game.
@TeeJay Why do they withhold a lot of things?
So basically.....Zelda content destined to be a Gamestop exclusive!
Oh, I guess they could decide they want to make money... or they could... not...
That's a very strange decision.
I'm fine with at least one third-party release on a Nintendo system not pandering to Mario or Zelda.
I was already holding back on buying this due to it being a digital-only in Europe, I guess I'll hold off some more.
Maybe we'll get Mario outfits instead? IDK.
God that's just so idiotic, don't expect much sales in the west then.
And interest went from 0 to... 0.
Meh, doesn't matter to me much, I rather just want the game.
There goes my purchase.
EDIT: I loved Hyrule Warriors, but don't get it twisted. I have Dynasty Warriors 8 on my Vita. I like these games. They are cheating me out of a few bits of data that remind me of a game I love, because I'm American. That is something I will not condone. Its principal. I want the same thing my fellow humans over the pond have. It isn't fair, and until it is I'm not biting. Entitled? I'm a working adult with plenty of other stuff to play. I'll be that hard nosed consumer this time around. You don't tease me with Zelda and take it away.
MH4 retained the original costumes but i guess the Zelda costumes were just advertisements were Hyrule Warriors
Still looks fun. I'm not one for extra costumes anyway. I just use the default look in most games unless I get some kinda stats increase.
Well I'm still buying it. But bummer!
This is great for 3DS owners b/c it looked like we were never going to get another Warriors title since the launch-day release of the first one.
I really enjoyed the 1st Samuria Chronicles game on my 3DS. So, this will definitely be on my to-buy list.
