Little Orbit has announced that it is publishing Vicious Cycle's Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends on Nintendo Wii U and 3DS later this year.
Boasting 20 different characters as well as offline and online play, Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends contains plenty of modes, such as Tournament of Legends, Practice, Tutorial, VS., Team Play, and Tag-Team.
At launch, the game will cover the first two Kung Fu Panda movies. Interestingly, when the third film is released later this year [EDIT: January 2016, actually], additional content from it will be made available in the game - we assume that means extra characters unique to that movie.
The game is due for release this fall.

Well I can tell you it won't be going anywhere near my Wii U!
Day 1 buy. GOTY.
nice!
Will Jack Black be his own character? (not just voice acting) If so, Day 1 Purchase
So long as they remember the 'secret ingredient'......
During the Wii years I wouldn't have even bothered to open this article, the headline tells me all I need to know. But in these lean Wii U years,I clicked with interest. It's a rare thing.Shame the game will likely be crap but fair play to them for adding online and extra content. There likely wont be anyone to play with online but at least they've gone to the effort of adding it.
Movie games are all B grade games, they belonged in the discount bin on day one.
I don't see this coming close to sales of Smash, but it would be a good game for kids who are awaiting for something new on the Wii U...other than that, hopefully it's better than the Penguins Of Madagascar game on Wii u...that game was utterly terrible with no voice acting, no tutorials, no music and barely any sound effects.
I hope it doesn't turn out do be another bad movie game.
@Obito_Sigma You just want to beat the crap out of Jack Black, admit it...
Guess this is why there is that Kung Fu Panda reference in Ribbon Road on the new MK DLC.
@Obito_Sigma
Ha! 1up for you!
So, this year's Sonic Boom? It isn't the holidays w/o Wii U shovelware.
sigh
I would like to see how they pull off Mantis as a playable character. And hopefully they use the voice actors from the movies (Jack Black, Seth Rogen, Dustin Hoffman, etc.). And hopefully the ghost of Oogway can be an unlockable fighter.
So does this at all follow Smash's percents and blast zones, or is it just another fighter?
If its the former, TMNT and Cartoon Network say hello.
Lol.
Lol what a pile of garbage.
Vicious Cycle isn't known for making great games, but this could very well be their worst yet.
@Knuckles From what I recall, TMNT used a health bar system as opposed to Smash's blast zones. The Cartoon Network game was the only one to mimic Smash Bros in that fashion (BTW, don't buy the 3DS and Wii versions, they suck eggs).
On topic, I guess a fighting game makes sense for the licence, but I'm not going to make assumptions about it's quality just yet. For all we know, it could go either way.
Just what everyone wanted
@WalupeachyTime "TMNT: Smash Up" uses both health bars and blast zones (you can take a life either way). It was a decent attempt at a Smash Bros. imitator but unfortunately suffers from mediocre gameplay (It feels like there's Wii U input lag by default even on a CRT set.) and hardly any love given to the classic 1987 cartoon series.
Like I said never buy a game at release with DLC potential. I will wait till I get the ultimate edition for a very low price. suckerssss LOLS
Panda's don't even know karate and stuff, so atleast it's creative!
Vicious Cycle, that's ironic.
I really like Kung Fu Panda so I'm very interested, but I will need to see/hear more about this game. If it's like Smash Bros in a way, it could be a VERY fun game, if done right that is
