The Power Glove is an iconic NES controller accessory that was originally released in 1989. For Nintendo fans, it is a love and hate relationship, helping to establish Nintendo within pop culture, paving the way for future technology, but also becoming the butt of jokes. It was most prominently known for its role within the Nintendo-produced film released in the same year, The Wizard.
With such a prestigious status, what happens when you place the Nintendo relic of yesteryear in the hands of a bunch of teenagers?
Enter the Teens React YouTube Channel. With the testers labelling it as the “Wii before the Wii”, claiming they feel more powerful when wearing the glove and making comparisons to various other modern devices such as the Oculus Rift.
The play session results are far from stunning, with the teenagers having classic control troubles whilst playing an array of games including Punch-Out!!. The general verdict amongst the group is that it was an idea ahead of its time, but a poorly executed one at that – with technology standards being the ultimate setback.
In saying that, the teenagers did admit it obviously went onto pioneer an entire sub-industry and culture within modern gaming, and finished off with the famous quote from The Wizard turned meme:
I love the Power Glove. It’s so bad.
Take a look at the videos below and let us know in the comments if you’ve had the honour of using the almighty Power Glove.

THEY ARE NOT WORTHY!!
Only I am worthy of possessing the power ALMIGHTY Power Gloveeeee!! It is totally rad! Only for kool kids. These kids aren't kool; these guys are too hip!
I honesty don't see the appeal of the "teens react" line of videos. It's bad enough they are considered the entitlement generation. Giving them the idea their opinion is worth watching may be filling them with a false sense of importance.
These "react" videos were cute when they first started but now it's a click-bait factory production.

No.
I didn't think it was that bad. The only issue for me was holding up my arm for extensive periods of time to get the pointer to work. I thought it worked well with Punch-Out!!(using the code in the instructions), and Super Glove Ball worked, but I didn't even know how to play it.
Love the react vids. So sad too see Ethan go at the end.
