It seems like Hyrule Warriors was released a long time ago, but the game has had a consistent stream of downloadable content - well worth the cost of the readily available Season Pass.
This final piece of DLC is an absolute stonker, adding two new Challenge modes - Boss Challenge and Ganon Play. Finally, you can play as Ganondorf in his beastly form, and as you can imagine it's rather fun. Meanwhile, Boss Challenge is an all new test of your Warriors skills, as you'll be thrown in a variety of arenas filled with massive beasties ready to challenge you. You'll need nerves of steel (and high level heroes) in order to tackle these tasks!
With new costumes for Link, Zelda and Lana available in Boss Challenge, and costumes for Ganondorf and Cia, you'll be rewarded handsomely for your troubles.
For a brief look at these new modes, we rustled up a very special teaser trailer, just for you.

It's really amazing how much this game delivered beyond it's original retail release. Like "Mario Kart", I hope Nintendo continues this awesome DLC support for their titles.
I hear there is a hidden giant playable character in the dlc, but I won't spoil it for anyone here.
Did that Ganon special actually say "285 KO"? Wow.
They zaved the best for last.
@MrGawain Email me the secret i want to know

@mjharper he really is a total beast! There's something so awesome about crushing minions like ants
The Boss rush mode will induce a lotta stress, and yet Ganon mode is the Perfect way to relieve stress. (Seriously this is just hilarious to watch Ganon make mincemeat out of these guys.) Take your pick.
Nintendo needs to give more Wii U games the Hyrule Warriors DLC approach treatment. Consistent DLC is the easy solution to eliminating the game droughts!
I'm just wondering, is there a way to make this game harder? Even hard mode is too easy....
Was expecting new bosses here, but...oh well. lol
@MrGawain By saying it's a "giant" secret playable character you're partially ruining the surprise. Well done! You shouldn't say anything at all. I'm sure the author of this article is aware of the secret character but you don't hear them blabbing their mouth off.
@Sligeach Oh, I didn't even know there was a secret, hadn't got that far Might put in some time this weekend to find out!
@Sligeach It's obviously Ridley! (sorry I couldn't resist )
"It seems like Hyrule Warriors was released a long time ago"
What was released a long time ago was MK8, and we still have to wait another 3 months to get that DLC. HW seems like it just released in comparison, and the constant 4 part season pass DLC has certainly been worth it.
Really looking forward to give Ganon a try, will probably skip boss mode myself but my kids will give it a go.
I've had HW since day 1 so it would't affect me, but I'd like to see them offer a "complete" game next holiday for people who skipped it. Maybe offer a "complete" MK8 package as well. Would make for a nice dual announcement at E3.
When is this coming to NA?
@MrGawain At first I though this was just a cheeky comment referencing Ganon... but then curiosity got the better of me and I googled it. If I did not have it already, I would gladly buy the game and all the DLC at full price at once for that one secret alone!
Now I can't wait for this pack to hit NA!!!!
@mozzy1 March 12th.
Yes its true there is a very special secret hidden character in this pack but I will not spoil it for anyone
As soon as I get my Wii U back from Nintendo's repair shop I'm getting this game. I've put this off waaaaaay too long!
@Wolfgabe People should be caw-tious when playing it.
"It's an absolute stonker"... Sorry dear British friends, but does this mean good or bad... Some of your phrases never made it across the pond. lol.
after 180 hours of gaming, i had to force my self to put it to the side so i could go through some backlog, but I'm 1000% happy with hyrule warriors, has been my most enjoyable wii-u game, and that's saying alot considering all the other gems.
@Tsurii897 I have to wait til March 12 to unlock the majestic "it"... I already spoiled it for myself but that's okay, I look forward to "it" very much.
@Shworange My apologies, it means "good"
@LeeGarbutt
Lol. Thank you sir.
So I'm assuming the Ganon mode will be singleplayer?
@Platina Yep.
That's pretty great. Looking forward to it though Ganon looks kinda silly with the red mane. I would've enjoyed the original look from the first Zelda games more.
I wish they would remaster OoT to look like this.
I bought Hyrule Warriors as a gamble as I was abit short on games to play - my expectations weren't that high as I'd never played a 'warriors' game. Have to say this game has blown me away with its addictiveness. I've swallowed dozens (if not hundreds!) of hours and still going strong, it must be one of the biggest bargains for fun & gameplay hours (like Advance Wars DS). The DLC has all been great and a bargain too! Zelda Warriors' developers should be very proud of their achievement.
I just hope a sequel is planned, maybe if not Zelda then a Mario World Warriors game??
