It's been a while since we reported on The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup, a new title for the Wii U and 3DS eShops from former Rare staffers Chris Seavor and Shawn Pile. Since bringing you the exclusive news that the title was headed to Nintendo formats, things have been a little on the quiet side as the two developers work feverishly on bringing the game to market.
That silence has been broken by some fresh posts on the Gory Detail blog, and a slight update of the game's official website. Seavor has also published some new video clips on the blog which show off the game's exquisite animation, and has also shared some doodles from the game's very early development - when it was known as Toc.
Rusty Pup is shaping up to be one of our most anticipated eShop releases - are you still excited about playing it? Let us know by posting a comment below.

At first, I thought Rusty Pup was Rusty the dealer dog at Rusty's Real Deal when he was young.
Edit: (gone)
I'm excited if only because of past work.
@Tops I was thinking the same thing actually. Hoping for some pictures or a video personally.
@Tops They're video clips which cannot be embedded in the post. Sorry for putting you out and making you click a link, I know how hard that is
It's a 3D Platformer, right? The site won't pull up for me!
Great news.
@JakeOfAllTrades
2D.
Heck yeah I'm excited!
More of that weird dark humor that I miss so much, please!
One of my most anticipated e-Shop releases too. I've been following Chris Seavor on twitter for more info, but it's been slow. Hopefully we can get a release window soon.
I was wondering if this game was still being developed.
I'm very optimistic about this game. Do you think it will be full retail price of 40? Or will it get the 20 dollar price tag?
I'm interested, but I'll reserve excitement for now.
I am getting an oddworld vibe from this game
If conkers game play has anything to go by, this is gonna be great!
It better be crude and vulgar.
Seeing as it is made by former RARE staff I will definitely be keeping my eye on this one. If it turns out to be pretty good then I may pick it up!
Conker's creator you say. Take my money!
I need.
As long as M$ doesn't saunter along and buy these guys up just to waste their talent on avatars and kinect sports games I'll look forward to anything they work on. Rare's golden era was nearly flawless.
From the grave, a true RARE game ariseth!
It's hard to not be excited when former Rareware staff are working on a game.... for Nintendo.
Looks pretty nice. Interested.
