1st April my be a popular time for companies to come up with creative pranks, but thankfully Square-Enix has gone down a different route and instead gifted us with two videos for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call instead.
We have of course looked at the published track lists and new features in the game before, but now we get to listen to a twenty minute medley of classic Final Fantasy music titled Theatrhythm FF Curtain Call Music Complete Works Vol.1, which covers music from the original Final Fantasy through to Final Fantasy VII.
The second video is more conventional but no less interesting for it, going through the basic gameplay features as well as reminding us that the game will feature over sixty characters and two hundred music tracks to choose from. This video is titled "Final Trailer" - an unsubtle reminder that the Japanese release date is just a few weeks away.
We'll be sure to report on the inevitable "Music Complete Works Vol.2" when it arrives, but for now let us know what you thought of these videos in the comments section below.

Enough with the trailers and new song announcements, give us a release date already!!!
@LunaticPandora um they have. The Japanese release date is on the 24th.
Must have this game!!
@Tsuchinoko Why does Japan get all the goodies this month. =<
@Tsuchinoko Do I look like I live in Japan?
@LunaticPandora um, first, i was joking. Second, i can't exactly see you. I live in japan, this is the Internet. You could be in Ethiopia for all i know.
Please lighten up a bit. Stress is bad for your health
I am glad not to see a release date in the West in this article. Don't want it to be a joke.
That RPG mode looks neat.
@PrincessEevee9 first half of April is spring break for all the k-12 kiddies in Japan. Thats why a lot of new games are coming out.
That airship sequence caught me by surprise. There are some questionable decisions that I'm seeing, mostly in certain songs that are in an FMS Sequence, but better suited as a BMS Sequence and vice versa. It's most strange to see Aerith's Theme as a battle sequence, but I haven't played FFVII, so maybe it makes sense for those who did.
I can't wait to get this!!!!!
@allav866 certain songs i believe are playable in more than one way. Aeriths theme is both an event sequence song and can be played as a battle sequence. I don't remember but i believe there is a time in VII where that song is played during a fight.
Oh how I want this game...
@Tsuchinoko Ah didn't know their's was close to ours. Good to know.
What!? An adventure mode?! I will buy this game when it comes to US for sure!
