Rising Star Games has revealed that it will be publishing Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi in Europe, following news that Aksys would be bringing the title to North American shores.
Developed by IDEA FACTORY, Hakuoki: Memories of the Shinsengumi is billed as a "romantic visual novel" which revolves around helping the lead character Chizuru find true love.
Here's what Rising Star Games' managing director Martin Defries had to say about the news:
We are delighted to be working with IDEA FACTORY again. Their reputation is well deserved and the games we have signed from them are the perfect example of fresh and exciting Japanese creativity that has made Rising Star Games so successful over the years.
IDEA FACTORY’s business development manager Damien Urvois also passed comment:
It is a pleasure for us to work with such a talented partner. With their deep understanding of the Japanese culture and proven track record on releasing ambitious and yet very successful titles, we are convinced that thanks to Rising Star Games, both titles will reach their full potential in Europe.
The partnership will see another currently disclosed title being published by Rising Star Games in Europe. This will be announced "in the near future".

Great news! Keep 'em coming... =)
Pass on this, but they need to bring Rune Factory Tides of Destiny to European wii's.
Is this a sequel to the PSP game?
So... What are these games like? Romantic visual novels don't sound too appealing but I'm willing try anything if it's good. Plus, I like to support localisations of obscure Japanese games.
Great! I really didn't expect this release to be localized.
Rising Star always has my attention. I'm curious.
@Humphries90 You act as the MC and try to get a good ending (an ending where the girl and the boy is happy). You will have to pick choices and options. It's like a dating sims game I suppose or rather it's like you're trying to progress the story itself.
Good to see that there are more localizations of Japanese games.
I wanna know more and gonna follow this game. Great that it comes here to Europe!
I'll wait for the review, but I AM a fan of novel games.
