The 3DS eShop is seeing some impressive discounts of late, with Nintendo hacking down the cost of several of its own titles on the download store.
Those titles have now been joined by Code of Princess, which is now being sold for $29.99. The original price was $39.99.
"This is the rare kind of game that seamlessly blends classic brawler gameplay with RPG elements while still managing to remain simple and fun," is what we said in our Code of Princess review, adding that it is "one of the most appealing games we've seen on the 3DS so far."
Will this discount tempt you to make a purchase?

Great to see another top game getting a more competitive price point!
The gameplay to me looks like a virtual console game, not a $30/$40 game. IMO.
The discount tempts me. I've been on the fence about this one because I'm not sure if it's a complicated fighting system, remembering 7 directions and buttons to pull off a move.
Awesome! Somebody give me $30.
Wow almost tempted to get this one but I like to reserve the space on my SD card for games that I can only get digitally like VC games.
@Tasuki seriously get a 32gb SDHC class 10 card for $20, totally worth it
While i love this game, and hope for an hd rerelease, skip this game. The online modes have been dead for quite sometime and they make up the majority of the experience.
@3Daniel Wow thnx for the info
@3Daniel maybe mlre people will play now that its been reduced?
Ive had it for 4 months and never connected with anyone. If it drops another 10$ I definately recommend it for the dumb story, whimsical character designs and voice acting. But the 50 plus characters really shine in multiplayer.
Edited for notsosmartphone typos.
If there was ever a game I would feel awkward buying at the Gamestop where they all know me, this is it.
@AceSpadeS "While your friends are playing COD, you can tell them you're playing COP... keepin' it real." - Mark, Classic Game Room.
Bought it on the eshop a few months back, I played it for a day or two then stopped, I really don't know if I will play it again or not.
@AceSpadeS
And that is the exact reason why I purchased my physical copy of the game while I was visiting my sister in another state.
I'll probably download this now!
A very weak game afterall, save your money for something better... A $10 price tag would be better... For just a couple of hours of gameplay is not worth it... =(
Looks pretty epic , id purchase if i had the console.
Is this a temporary discount or a permanent reduction? I wanna get this one at some point but got loads to play already and DKC3D is not here yet LMFAO x
Anyone know how big the file is?
10$ more and it shall be mine!
@AceSpadeS: Oh? What about Super Princess Peach?
I've been noticed the price weeks ago
@3Daniel Really? I played single player and totally ignored the online modes in the main. I personally don't think it's a key part of the experience at all- at least it wasn't for me anyway. Depends what you want from a game.
If you like guardian heroes then I'd recommend this. Had great fun with it, the fighting system is great and the script is genuinely hilarious. Wish they'd put a demo out as more people would take the plunge then...
EDIT 3Daniel- just read your later post and yeah using all the unlock characters on online would be fun- I get where you're coming from now
I think online is a strong part of the game too, it's a shame it's dead.
That said single player is still fun and quirky, but I liked fighting other people. There are also items that are exclusive to getting certain ranks online (there's even one for being #1 on leaderboards which is ridiculous).
@snoox
What do you mean a Virtual Console title? It's hard to sound more vague. The gameplay is what makes the game fun though. It's pretty short story-wise, and the story isn't much to begin with but the gameplay is awesome. I bought it at $40 and don't regret it.
@DashDG
I don't think so. There are more than a "couple" hours of gameplay. Yes if you just breeze through the story line you can 'finish' the game in a couple of hours. That is not what this game's appeal is though. People don't play arcade games to just complete the levels and quit because they 'beat' the game.
I think this is permanant, as it was this price new at gamestop online. I ordered mine through gamestop last week for 29 something plus tax.
This game is awesome. It is like TMNT IV mixed with Final Fantasy.
Tetris Axis is only $10 dlls and nobody says something. hehe
Very fun game. Unusual style of game, but I found myself playing this a lot more than I thought I would when I first started playing. Worth a go if you can spare the $$.
I paid for the Ltd Ed and yes, the package is great with the CD and all the graphic stuff but @sweetiepiejonus the gameplay is boring as hell, I wish you could play Senran Kagura Burst for 3DS thats a really nice hack & Slash!!! CoP is so overrated... I bought it from day one just because Im a loyal buyer from Atlus, but the true is that I never found a single online match or another person who bought the game... This is just another casual game painted as a niche japanese title. The RPG elements are useless, the ingame arwork is blurry and colorless... I finished the main quest in around 1.5 hrs and keep playing it casually since then, reaching around 15hrs of total gameplay (the smallest time registered in my collection, but one of the more expensive games for my 3DS).
What I mean is that this game is not worth "the amount of money" and I think thats why they reduce the price, probably to see another reduction in the future...
@DashDG
Well hey we all have differing opinions obviously. I thought it was fun and I haven't started it up for a while but when I wanted to I didn't have tons of trouble finding co-op.
I don't think the game is without faults but just feel you are a little harsh. I personally liked the RPG elements. Yeah they weren't all that significant but I still found myself wanting to improve stats and get all the equipment. The main problem I had was the occasional slowdown. But like I said I paid full price and don't regret it.
I'm sure there are lots of better options and I'd never heard of Senran Kagura Burst but if it's better than this I'm sure I'd love it as I said I enjoyed this game.
