Shin'en has divulged a few more details regarding its forthcoming 3DS eShop title, Jett Rocket II: The Wrath of Taikai.
The game is set to feature both 2D and 3D gameplay, and will support 60 fps visuals - even with the 3DS' autostereoscopic effect switched on.
Like the WiiWare prequel, the game will centre around "jump and run" action, with the player utilising a range of gadgets to progress through the game.
Shin'en is aiming for a Q1 release for Jett Rocket II, so we should be hearing about a solid release date - as well as seeing screenshots - very soon indeed. Excited? Let us know by leaving a comment.

Yay for 60 fps, but only if the review is good I will get this.
The first one wasn't very fun...
Nice to see the continuing habit games from Shin'en having that smooth visuals, their Art of Balance Touched remains one of the best looking titles for the 3ds. Can't wait for this, the eshop needs more 3D platformers.
I loved the first and can't wait to see this in 3d at 60 fps. This could be a glimpse at what a proper 3d Mario could look like in the future!
@Tech101 Proper? Mario's 3D Land looked gorgeous!
I had lots of fun with the first one, so I'm really excited with this sequel!
@Moshugan Like I said proper. I want a full on 3d Mario and not a hybrid of a 2d and 3d! I wasn't the biggest fan of 3d land.
Yay! I'm excited for the sequel, loved the first Jett Rocket, really beautiful graphics & quite fun
I love 60 fps visuals in stereoscopic 3D. It makes the effect that much more convincing and really adds to the immersion. Super Monkey Ball 3D was worth playing.simply because it runs at 60 fps in 3D, even though it's completely unremarkable in all other respects. I wish more developers would shoot for this.
Jeez Shin'en, just show some gameplay already. If it's gonna be released in the coming weeks, you should have done this a long time ago.
I hope this means more developers will make full 3D at 60FPS a 3DS standard on new games.
Yeah the graphics will be great. Why can't other (third party) developers do that? A lot of them make games that look like they belong on the Nintendo 64, when I've seen 3DS games (typically made by Nintendo themselves) that look even better than some Wii games.
Just IMAGINE a First-Person-Shooter from Shin´en on the 3DS. They´re really great on the technical side. Jett Rocket was cool, but a little uninspired.
Shin'en are definitely a developer that could use a little touch of that Nintendo magic. The talent is there to produce some gorgeous games, with some excellent ideas, but the execution isn't always spot on. Still, I have never played the first Jet Rocket, but I will be looking on with interest with this game.
I liked the first game, so I'll likely be buying this. Can't wait to see some more info.
@TheAdza Agree. They are amazing for a team of 5 people and make good games but they don't quite hit "Amazing"
Still a very talented and creative team though and generally their games are worthy of a spot in your library.
3D at 60 fps is pretty darn sexy. Not enough to sell a game by itself, but still.
I remember the first game was a very good "proof of concept" for getting a Jak and Daxter like game running within the restrictions of Wiiware. Not much of a game - I recall it ending and feeling like it was only 1/3 done - but technically impressive. Considering the size of some of the DLs on 3DS so far size limit doesn't seem like i will be an issue, and after playing the Fire Emblem demo I know the 3DS is capable of great looking graphics.
If it's a complete game and priced right I may have to pick it up. Jett Rocket on Wiiware was 1 of the first games to have a demo so maybe this will get one as well.
"The game is set to feature both 2D and 3D gameplay"
Some added sidescrolling levels like in Mario galaxy? Sounds fun!
Yes very excited i have the first one. I'll be looking forward to play it when it's release.
finally....
The only thing I don't like about Jett Rocket is Jett himself. He looks so creepy with those huge eyes. Make Rudolpho playable Shin'en!
