We know that Need For Speed: Most Wanted is coming to the Wii U in 2013, but up until recently there was no solid indication of when that would be. That's now changed as EA Japan has listed the release date as 14th March in that region - presumably North American and European dates will follow shortly.
The press release also gives some details regarding the game itself. During gameplay, menus and information will be displayed on the Wii U GamePad, and there's also the option to play the game entirely on the controller.
While it's a bit odd that EA Japan has broken this news despite there being little information elsewhere in the world, we expect more details soon - keep your eyes glued to the site until then.

I'm interested in this, but I'm worried about how it will play without analog triggers.
NFS: Most Wanted 2 coming to Wii U. I'm looking forward to this one, still had my GameCube version of the first one on Wii.
YAY RACING GAMES!
Cool that you can play on the GamePad.
Can't wait for this
Looks promising..
I may get this, looks fun. Being able to play on the GamePad is a must imo.
Aweet
Sweet*
I'm probably getting this.
It's difficult for me to say if I will get it. On one hand, it's beautiful and chaotic, on the other hand I had a lot more fun with Burnout Paradise...
Played it; the literally took the soul out of it.
If it plays just as well as the other versions then I'll defo be getting it!
Needs to be out sooner.....like now!
I wouldn't say no to this,
I just hope this maintains all features with few bugs. If there is very minor frame-rate discrepancy I may still get the Wii U version.
If it's something bigger like missing online modes, well, you know what EA can do...
@retro_player_22 It's not Most Wanted 2, it's a reboot, not a sequel
If this version includes 5 player local multiplayer then I'm definitely sold.
This really should have been out earlier but I will very likely get this no matter what. I need a racing game.
@Chucky110 Well it's a second game of the brand so I'm calling it like it is.
The menus on Xbox are horrible as although they can be accessed while driving, in reality you just end up crashing because they're so clunky. It might just work a treat on Wii U. Shame I bought and have almost finished it on Xbox already though...
I want this. The one disappointing thing about Wii was its lack of decent (non-Kart) driving games. And I'm glad Criterion are involved. The Burnout series for me reached a peak at Burnout 2 but the later games were one of only things to (almost) tempt me to a non-Nintendo console. I'd love to see a new Burnout as well.
