According to UKIE's video games chart information for last week, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask has debuted in seventh place in the UK. The game, which is the fifth title in the beloved Professor Layton series, was released last Friday (26th October) in Europe, and has been warmly received by critics.
While seventh place may not seem particularly high, it's worth noting that this latest release has matched the first-week performance of its predecessor, Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call, which also reached the same position last November. When you also take into account that this game is exclusive to the 3DS—which has a significantly smaller install base than the DS—it's a pretty impressive achievement.
Meanwhile, EA's Medal of Honor: Warfighter debuted in first place, knocking FIFA 13 down to second after four weeks at the top. Forza Horizon was the highest-ranking system exclusive, entering the chart in third place.
Did you pick up a copy of Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask over the weekend? If not, we strongly suggest you read our in-depth review - it's a must-buy.

What's puzzling is that you guys haven't done an article on the broken DLC one puzzle per day yet... Did you guys check into that yet NintendoLife?
Has anyone gotten the DLC puzzles to work yet??
Got the game on launch day.
And in case anyone's wondering what @Zach777's talking 'bout, here's the latest i've got on it.
Still haven't got this yet:(
But well done Nintendo.
@ziLToiD - Many thanks for posting that link!
It is more than abit pathetic of Nintendo for them to keep us waiting for more than a year after Japan for Professor Layton and then still screw up the download section !
I can cope with the delay - computer programs often present unexpected snags. However, having sent Spotpass messages to everyone saying the games were now available, I do think they could have at least flagged the problem up on the website when it became obvious there was one. It would have saved a lot of folk wondering if they had a problem with their WiFi, 3DS, or their shiny new game cart.
PS It is a lovely game
Not surprising as Layton games normally sell well but still good to see. It does look like an excellent game but I'm currently playing Spectre's call so I'll get it at a later date.
got it love it havent been able to get any DL puzzles yet.currently stuck on the gate padlock puzzle.anyone done that one yet?
figured it out^
I heard that Warfighter game was terrible... it's amazing how bad games usually sell great as long as it's a FPS and has lots of explosions and shooting. cough*cough*cough Call of Duty*cough*cough*cough*
@ocarinadude14 I know right and it's sad when titles of quality sell so little cough chibi Robo, Stafy, EBA Drill Dozer cough
I'm not sure 3DS sales = better achievement then DS sales.
1. The DS is literally flooded with titles. Not so much the 3DS right now.
2. The DS piracy scene is as notorious as torrenting itself. The 3DS hacking scene is non-existent (unless you count using the camera app to watch YouTube videos)
3. The brand itself is more well-known now, which means the consumer base should be larger.
Regardless, nice to see it doing well. I need to pick this one up eventually.
@HarmoKnight Little King's Story.
at this point I think I'm just gonna reference that game until the day I die. It's not even like my favorite game of all time but it's failure from a sales perspective will never not be awful.
Hi. My copy of game hat not arrived yet.
Will I got all the download puzzles from missing days?
Yes if you want you can download all 365 at once
