Nintendo's Christmas trio of top titles continues to sell in Japan into January, with Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land and Monster Hunter 3 G still topping the country's sales charts.
Between them the games have sold 3.94 million copies in Japan, an incredible figure as the most recent hardware sales put the machine at 3.6m units in Japan. We're guessing there's either 340,000 very confused people out there or people are buying more than one game each. It could be anything.
Landing at number five in its first week is the much-anticipated Resident Evil Revelations, serving up 160,575 sales in its first week.
Here's the top ten run down.

We're guessing there's either 340,000 very confused people out there or the 3DS is continuing to sell." Or is it that some people bought both Mario Kart and Mario 3D or the 3 games all together. Or is it the writer of those lines who is confused?...
@lethib LOL
Lol Guys
@lethib It was a joke but have added a line for clarity!
I do find it impressive that these three games combined have sold more than the 3DS itself. Oh, but 3DS is doomed, I forgot.
So.
Not Doomed then.
Glad that's been cleared up.
it's doomed!? oh noez!
Then VITA is doomed !!
Ps: Why can't I put smileys?!!
people are probably just buying a 3ds used then buying games new
Actually I'm fairly sure 3DS is closing in on 5 million sold.

Huh? Wow, 6 of the top ten games in sales this week are from Nintendo, 5 of which are 3DS games.
I hope Resident Evil: Revelaitions does well. 1 sec, isn't it still called Biohazard in Japan?
Yes! The Vita doesn't have any games on the top 10 because it sucks!

lol @ fanboys
The Vita isn't selling well in Japan because there are hardly any games that the Japanese like. Games like Uncharted and Little Deviants are made by Western developers, who often don't understand Japanese tastes.
When I read the title, I thought you meant the big three as in: Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, & Ocarina of Time 3D. Then I read it and Monster Hunter 3 G took me by surprise. Wasn't OoT 3D a big seller too ( not this week, but overall) ?
I'm still thinking that The Last Guardian will wind up being a Vita game.
@TheSolarKnight "I hope Resident Evil Revelaitions does well."
lol did you misspell that on purpose?
