Nintendo Working On New Zelda Game

Well I'd like an original Zelda game for the 3DS, one that will motivate me to buy the console

I think he's likely referring to Zelda on the 3DS, which he confirmed is going to be a completely new entry, and likely the next one released.

I'd wish for a Zelda game on the 3DS, but without the Wind Waker graphics. I have nothing against the graphics, I would just like to see a new style on a handheld Zelda game. Probably in the style of Skyward Sword.

I'd like zombies. Lots of 'em. And lazer pew pews.

Windwaker 2 bundled with a remodeled double C-Padded 3DS in 2013. Mark my words.

Seriously though, i think a game playing like Windwaker (as in not top-downish) would be ideal as a retail 3DS title. I loved the AR Link and it fits handheld gaming perfectly.
A graphcially improved top-down or new sidescrolling Zelda could be nerd-gasm as well. Maybe as eShop releases ?
Of course i don't mind being surprised so do whatever you want, Nintendo.

Well YEAH. Didn't they say they were going to start work on the next as soon as Skyward Sword was done? So it was finished and then they dealt with all the technicalities of a release and had a little bit to relax and now it's time to get back to work. Honestly, it could be either the Wii U or 3DS Zelda. There's no telling. If they are smart, it's the Wii U version to help move systems at the end of the year/start of next. But we'll see.

I'm not really keen on the idea of a completely original Zelda game for the 3DS. I'd prefer to see a Majora's Mask remake instead, while the team focuses on Wii U for the newest game. I would think, given the amount of time it took to develope Skyward Sword, they'd want to start on the Wii U one right away in order to get out within the peak period of the systems life.

5 3DS Zelda games, and 4 Wii U zelda games. Zelda is my favorite nintendo series

As much I like Majora's Mask, I think it's time it needs an original Zelda title. Majora's could wait, by all mean it should have being enhanced included with Ocarina in the first place.

Just saying I'd rather them use that effort towards a brand new Zelda game on a console rather than a portable, in order to get it out in a timely fashion.

Considering they've already done games based on land, see, and sky, this next game will take place in purgatory, also since we've already seen child, teenage and adult link this game will have old man link.

Make Zelda on the Wii U worth it, and call it a day.

I know they kept saying that big Zelda WiiU demo was just a mockup of a possible look, but come- on! Why would they waste time drawing up such a complex rendered scene when the bird video was such a lazy demo otherwise? Of course that's going towards some future game levels. Somewhere there is probably the beginnings of many HD levels like it for a very traditional ground adventure to celebrate the jump to HD.
But then why is this newsworthy? It's like reporting that water has been confirmed wet.

Ooh, old man link. That is a totally awesome idea! like a wise old wizard that has to mend villagers feuds and train them to be strong armies against evil and then fight himself as a spell casting, beard having, powerhouse. Complete with flashbacks to different ages or game styles where he learns spells and meets people. That would be the best ever!

Sounds like the next iteration of the Wind Waker series of portable games for the 3DS.

You can use the Wii Remote on the Wii U. All the old Wii controllers and games are compatible with the Wii U.

I would love to see the Wii U Zelda demo from E3 last year become a game of its own! Actually, I wouldn't mind any kind of Zelda (not counting CD-i or cartoon).

If we are getting a Zelda game for the 3DS, I would prefer it in the Wind Waker art style. Like, the ORIGINAL Wind Waker. It would be really cool. I would also like more ways to use the gyro sensor. Aiming items was cool, but I want more. Like Mario Kart's driving or... well.... SOMETHING AWESOME!!

I'm greedy and I want four games from them and in this order.
1. New Zelda 3DS game, and I don't care what it looks like since I trust them to make a good game
2. Majora's Mask 3D which is already 6 months overdue since it should have been included with Ocarina of Time 3D
3. New Zelda WII U game, again I don't care what style they go for because it will be fun no matter what
4. And anytime there can be new Zelda stuff for the eShop like Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, and also that 3D Classics: A Link to the Past I heard about.

I would love to see the original idea Nintendo had for the GBC. They wanted to make 3 games to make up the triforce. Unfortunately they had to get rid of one of the games due to the GBC limitations. We were left with with Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. My idea is remake both those games but with better graphics and 3D. But also include the 3rd game to complete the triforce. Basically 3 Zelda games in one cartridge for the 3DS.

I'd like to see what Hyrule would be like more in the future. Have Link be an assistant to an Archeologist, and uncovering a Temple of ancient Hyrule, and discover the Master Sword. However, the Sword itself would be stuck in a tomb, in a strangely preserved body of a man. When removed, the sword shatters, and the body turns out to be Ganon (think about how he looked at the very end of Twilight Princess). Ganon awakes and then could shape this new future and use it's technology for his own means, while Link needs to find the pieces of the Master Sword to once again kill Ganon.

It better be a follow up to the Orcale games for GBC

A Wind Waker sequel would be amazing. I've seen 3D screenshots of Wind Waker and the celshaded graphics look fantastic in 3D. They can do whatever they want with the story but those graphics would look great in 3D.

Oh please... Why does everyone want toon link Zelda games on the 3DS? Make a game with Twilight princess graphics. Don't you ever want to see a console quality Zelda game on a handheld?

So it's possible we see another Windwaker-esque Zelda! Hopefully we see the Windwaker-style on the Wii u instead of 3DS. Why should the Windwaker-style stay on the handhelds?!

I want a 2D game. Either like Link's Adventure or Link's Awakening.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they might even be currently working on a 3DS Zelda, a Wii U Zelda and a 3DS port of Majora's Mask. I mean, that's what happened with Skyward Sword, OoT3D and Spirit Tracks.

@Henmii I know where your coming from when you say Wind Waker type games should come back to consoles but, the Wii U has brought Nintendo to the age of HD and Zelda needs to have more a Twighlight Princess style gameplay for HD goodness. In other words, if it isn't a close call to become a rated T game atleast, it should go to the Wii or 3DS, any Zelda above this should be a great Wii U game.

Right now i would only want to play OoT, because i own links awakening, and am not a zelda fan YET, let me play OoT and there is a 99.99999999999999% chance it will happen

Why is this news? It's obviously obvious.

Nintendo is always making a new Zelda, and Pokemon, and Mario, and telling HAL Labs to make a new Kirby, etc.

The only development I don't like since Wind Waker in the Zelda series is the means of travel between worlds/islands. It started with sailing in two games, a train and flying in Skyward Sword. It is long and tedious. I rather see one big world like the old games. Also, I would like more freedom in future games: being able to do things in a different way/order and thereby making each game experience unique. Playing Zelda too much feels like tickimg off the boxes of the to do list. Graphic-wise I really liked Skyward Sword.

Sorry, but I disagree. HD isn't needed in my opinion. And if they use HD, it still can have Windwaker graphics. Whatever they do, I guess they can improve a lot on the Windwaker style when they do it on Wii u. It will look awesome!

Im hoping for an interquel that happens in between the adult and child timelines in OoT that sees you playing as Zelda/Shiek. Now that'd be a real "Legend of Zelda"

I would like to see it for the Wii U and a completely different game with graphics similar to Twilight Princess. I really want to find out all those little things like 'Who are Fierce Deity and Majora?' and other things similar to that. Imagine if it wasn't a game where you went alone, like you befriend local knights and stuff and they help you and they level up or something along those lines. I don't really care though, because it will be awesome no matter what Ninetndo do

I would like to see a new zelda game based on a shieken story, because they went off the hole idea of the shiekens, plus the link for that story could have the eye of truth instead the lens of truth, Or link could be a shieken and you have tecnieks you could learn like on twillight princess when you fight the undead hero, something like run up walls or instead of a hoopshot a chained wip like shiek's wip and instead of a slingshot needles. Of cource i mean he still has the link suit but you could have like a mix between a shieken's suit and links suit. I think that would give zelda a twist but then again I think iv gone abit to far with that, over all I would like to see majoras mask on the 3ds but slightly easier but the 3 days thing annoyed me alot, also I think they should make a hole new Zelda game for the Wii U

Whatever they decide to release, I really hope that there's more romance between link and zelda. There was some sort of a romantic undertone between them in skyward sword, but nothing ever happened. It was actually kinda disappointing despite the awesome ending. 16 games.... still no kiss. I think that many zelda fans would be very pleased if that happened.

oh dear god NOT ANOTHER WIND WAKER/PH/ZELDA 3DS GAME. Great games, but are you really going to devolve back to a more "kid-friendly" look after you made something as astoundingly beautiful, epic and mature as Twilight Princess? Zelda Skyward Sword is truly wonderful-with the storyline, design, music, animation and of course, gaming...and it connected to all ages...but your audience is hungry for something EPIC again!!
Some of my suggestions (storywise): bring back Midna/Twilii somehow, incorporate the story of the Shiekah more intimately into the story-teach us about their history and psychology and mission, give a lot more screentime devoted to Ganondorf (I personally would LOVE to learn more about his history and him as a person!!), give Link a family, rediscover Skyloft, meet face-to-face with a goddess...there's a whole HOST of ideas and loose ends not answered in the other games that you can play with!

Gamewise...I would want to see an even bigger landscape with lots of fun sidequests to give me an excuse to enjoy the games' scenery and become more involved with the differing characters and storylines..I play games because I get to be in a story (through another character) and challenge myself.

also, as zeldadude pointed out, the game has taken place in the sky, sea, land...but not underground! I think that's a really cool idea!

also, because I'm a dork and a girl, I would love love LOVE to see a romance blooming between Link and Zelda!

Zelda has been a game for some of the most serious Nintedo players for 25 years. I think they should take a step up and treat these loyal mature audience with a game thats not as childish. When playing Skyword sword, I got so excited to think when I went into the portal that I would be able to explore a deep dark parallel world. Maybe adding some light blood shed could spice things up a bit, making it more difficult, and expanding the maps evern farther then before, and instead of making the triforce just a symbol of power, courage, and wisdom, it should be an item that can be used to get you farther into the game.What do you guys think?

There is an original Zelda game out on the 3DS, it's called Ocarina of Time 3DS, and personally I hope it comes out on the Wii.

Also I loved the Skyward Sword game, the motion controls you get to do was just great and although the story might not have been the greatest like that of Twilight Princess or Ocarina, I like it just as much as Twilight scoring a 9.5/10 where as for me and a lot of gamers, Ocarina is number 1 at 10/10 but I would love it if in this new game if they use the graphics of Twilight, but made most of the game in the design of the Spirit world in Skyward, that was just awesome.

I want to see how the Gorons and the Zoras came to be, like a sequel to the prequel=) Because The Zelda series is the best ever made:D and i want to see how ganondorf found out about his powers and that he held the triforce of powers=) how did he know about this? many unanswerd questions. many things they could use here to make many good games.

And mayby a Majoras Mask to 3DS and the old and first Zelda games like "link to the past" and "Link's awekning" and games like that to the new Wii U or 3DS like a tribute. that would be fun.

to be honest i absolutely loved skyward swords control style it felt like i was holding links sword and shield in my hands witch made it the most realistic feeling zelda i have ever played so as long as they stick with that control format than they can make whatever game they want.

I would love to see like what some of the people said on here a Wind Waker 2, it takes place after Wind Waker BUT before Phantom Hourglass! I would love to still have some of the same characters from Wind Waker, ESPECIALLY TETRA AND THE PIRATES. Tetra is my favorite Zelda character and I would love to see maybe having her as your companion for the game. A lot of people might disagree with me, but that is what personally I would like for Nintendo to at least try. I love the cell shaded graphics and I honestly love it out of all the styles in the Zelda series. Very creative and very beautiful. Would love to see a little romance between Tetra and Link as well

I'd love to see more about the Hyrulean Civil War, maybe a game right in the middle of Hyrule establishing itself, tension rising, the Sacred Realm and the Interlopers. There's a lot of conflict and story there! It could also slide right into Ocarina of Time and the next Link, who was left in the Kokiri Forest. Obviously, the mother knew her son was the Hero reborn and had to save him before it's too late.

Well i think a zelda game on the wii would be good in my opinion,
but me and my friend were thinking and we thought it would be interesting if you could pick the color of your animal on the next zelda game . like if its a horse maybe black, brown and white? only simple colors because we know how hard you guys work on zelda. just a thought^_^

Definitely not 3ds, the controls aren't great and you can't see the game properly. I think Gamecube had the best controls but Nintendo already said they wouldn't be making any more Zelda for Gamecube, cry cry cry. I'd say either a new Gamecube sort of console but without the wires on the controller or on wii. Wind Waker was great because you got to know loads about Link and Zelda and wear your own clothes at the end, but the ones that followed Wind Waker, well, you didn't get to explore, Twilight Princess had the best exploring but it was too easy, there was more focusing on the graphics than the puzzles. The graphics were great though, by far anybody's favorite. If the games continue to get easier, Pro Zelda fans will just give up with Nintendo - fact. There are too many hints in the new games. But yeah, I hope the new game will be great.

I think it would be a terrible idea to give the player a choice of Epona's colour, Epona is Epona and will always be brown, if Zelda fans like myself see a brown horse with a white mane, you instantly think, that's Epona! I want to buy that horse! How will that happen if you're choosing a spotty white and blue horse.

I HATE the Zelda DS games. I never got really into Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks because the screen is so small and the graphics are not good at all. I just feel as if the DS games are cheaply made. I hope the next Zelda game will be for the Wii. Also it would be great if there was an option to use the Gamecube controller. I also liked Skyward Sword and how your physical actions while holding the Wii remote worked out. It was better than I thought. The thing that threw me off most though were the Loftwings. Since when do you ride birds on Zelda!? Epona only!!!!! I think that a new, awesome graphic classic Zelda game for the Wii where you explore Hyrule on the back of Epona and save the princess would be awesome. Also Gannon should come back. I'm not a fan of the new villains like Bellum and Demise. I want a game that will remind me of playing the older ones many years ago, as well as experience a whole new adventure.

If they are making a new game it should be for Wii and have good graphics like in TP! and it should have the option to use the gamecube controller and it needs new and old wepons (sp) but it should have dark link in it i love him or ghirham love him too.

I just got my girlfriend into playing it this past month and she's been asking me when a new one would come one. The ones we played were Twilight and Skyward and we enjoyed playing them together. So if they could make another for Wii, it'd be awesome. Or maybe even just put the remakes of the old versions such as OOT and MM onto a disk that is playable on the Wii.

Well Id love to see a twilight prinsess sequil! dosent anyone want a sequil to the most darkest legend of zelda yet? I mean for me, it was a whole nother experiance. If they make a sequil, id ask that the graphics be kinda the same because i dont like the whole new thing for skyward sword. The whole windwaker cartoon thing and trying to keep it serious didnt sell me. So please if your gona make a sequil to the twilight prinsess, make it the same graphics with skyward sword conectability of the wii remote, and make it a hell of a lot more darker, bloodier, scarier, and sexyr adult midna&zelda. I would like it to be either Wind waker of Twilight Princess, and for the 3DS! I like the darkness in Twilight Princess (which is my second favorite video game) yet i like the toon charectors, the scenary, and the story line in Windwaker (which is my favorite Video game!!!!!)

I would LOVE to see whatever new game that comes our on WII! I'd love to see it come out on both... but id rather WII. In my opinion, there should be a sequil to BOTH Skywords Sord and Twilight Princess. Zelda skyward sword was a great game but I have to say myself I love zelda: ocarina of time and twilight princesses style of gaming. The game itself seemed like it was focused towards a younger genation then it was more of a all round game for anyone to play. I have completed each of the zelda games but if a new zelda comes together in future I really do hope it brings back the twilight type of game play. But if not I'm still am on the edge of my seat for the next edition of zelda and links amazing adventures
