Focus Interactive has quite a few Sherlock Holmes games under its belt now, but it'll need to loosen that belt a little more for 2012 as the company has just announced Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Frozen City for release early next year.
The story goes that London is trapped in an abnormally cold storm, even freezing the mighty Thames, and so naturally the world's greatest murder detective is the perfect choice to investigate. Well, maybe not, but we don't imagine Bearded Meteorologist and the Mystery of the Frozen City would sell quite so well.
The first screenshots show a very slim and debonair — if slightly snooty — Holmes enjoying a series of gentlemen's pursuits such as fencing, playing the violin and wearing a smoking jacket. Beat that, Layton.
Look for Sherlock on 3DS in the first half of 2012.

No thanks..
i might get this one....i love puzzle games.
Im...intrigued shall we say.
I don't expect much.
Are the previous games in the series any good?
Looks like it would only make want to play phoenix or Layton.
I love games like this.
This sounds like it could be interesting. I wonder if it is going to be similar to the Professor Layton games.
Focus also did a surprisingly good job a Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of Osborne House for the DS IMO was in many was compatible with Layton.. (that damd Holmes wanna be!) except for the dam in game droning music... was too much...far too repetitive. Did you know Holmes, as was written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, close friend to Harry Houdini (aka Eric Weiss) was written as a character addicted to pharmacueticals?.. enter Dr. Watson... strange but true.
I knew that. One of the MANY books written after the author's death is about Holmes going to Italy to get his addiction cured. It doesn't sound like a very interesting book.
Elementary My Dear... Elementary !
