If you're having trouble planning a trip this winter, Namco Bandai Games may have the answer for you. The company's upcoming Wii title Go Vacation has players explore Kawawii Island in an open-ended fashion, racing, scuba diving, playing volleyball and more, as you can see in the screenshots and trailer below. The game is set to release in North America on 11th October (SRP $39.99) and in Europe on 4th November, where Nintendo will publish the title instead of Namco Bandai, according to recent press releases. The game will also utilise the Wii Wheel, Zapper, Balance Board and MotionPlus peripherals.
Do you plan on making the trip to pick up this title?

Oh yeah!
@Arthedain
Oh no!
After watching the trailers, this actually looks really good and I've heard some game journalists that previewed the game saying that its even better than Wii sports resort so i might get this at some point. Also, do I not get any thanks for informing nl of this game's release dates two days ago?
This game looks awesome.
Looks pretty cool. I may pick it up. Most likely though, I'll save my money for Mario 3D Land.
I hope it's localised to "Go Holiday". Not that I'll be getting it either way.
Actually looks much, much better than I expected.
Eh, I'll stick with Skyward Sword and Return to Dreamland, lol
Just might be the best Wii game so far this year! I can't wait!
i'll get it for my birthday....yah birthday lol. my birthday is 7 days after this game comes out. this looks awesome
Um, no I most definitely do NOT plan on picking up this game.
Looks better then I thought, I might pick this up now..
I actually think this looks really good all-round for what it is.
Horse Riding? Ok, I am getting it (I hate horses in real life, but most games with them in them are really fun).
This looks really impressive. I think I might pick this one up.
Kawawii Island :F
Wait, this is being developed by Nintendo?
Now I'm kind of interested.
Yeah, looks better than expected, but not good enough for me to buy it.
this game looks pretty nice actually but picking it up idk
Wow, that's how I wanted Wii Sports Resort to be, you run around an island to talk to people to choose what sport to play, not just select it from a menu. & the graphics really look like they were made by Nintendo... I'm so confused Guess we'll have to wait to see how it controls but I'm definitely getting this anyway just for the laughs at least.
I'll keep my eye out for some reviews, but I feel this will be a 'jack of all trades, master of none' deal.
I would love to be proved wrong though!
published, not developed. Even that sounds suspect to me; why would they publish a collection like this and not feature Mii's instead of those weird looking fake Mii doll things?
It's weird how I go to stores and see how there is a steady stream of trashy kid games like this always coming out for Wii, but only occasionally N-life picks one to review and cover just for giggles. Is there a science to it? Is it just what you can get preview copies of? I'm not saying I mind the omission of every single boardgame, tv show game, and half baked party game here but I'm curious about what goes into deciding what does get covered.
I believe this is a follow up to the 'Family Ski' games, both of which were fun, so this should be decent.
Looks like they've taken Wii Family Snowboard and Ski, which was good, and multiplied it by 10! I've been mointoring this since its announcement appeared several months ago. N-Gamer have been raving about its potential as well. The characters actually look like the MySims characeters which is an ok second to Miis. Potential 'sleeper hit' and maybe a million miles away from the party game shovelware we see on the console. Hope N-Life review this game, I really do.
Oh Yyyyeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! (repeat for 10 more minutes).
Damn, someone at Bandai is a true wordsmith!
Ahem. Still, I'm finally glad to see something new about his game. Will definitely pick it up if the reviews don't turn out terrible (which I sincerely doubt). It's good to see an open-world game that doesn't have to rely on violence to be great fun.
@Ren Different criteria go into each, they're decided on an individual basis really. This one caught our eye because Nintendo of Europe is publishing it and because it actually looks good. And rest assured, we don't have any trouble securing review copies, so it's not that
Looks pretty good. The mini games look well developed and taking probably the best of a few of the "wii" games. The lighting and water look very advanced for the wii.
Hey, thanks Zach! Didn't expect a response to my negativity, as I do love my Nintendolife so.
I was just curious since clearly lots of us put a lot of weight into the reviews here. Sure this doesn't look bad, I'm just surprised by all the quick "I'll pick this up" s here just because it's mentioned when this is something that looks ok, but I'd never get without first reading reviews and impressions of. It's just too close to the mounds of Bad cash in titles and it's so hard to judge these without a bit of play.
So if N-life posted updates about the likes of"Bratz" or "Alvin and the Chipmunks the movie" would people still be like "This looks pretty cool maybe I'll pick it up". I haven't just 'picked up' a retail game since... well ever! At $40+ each, it' just too much of a gamble. And people wonder why mobile games got so popular.
@Ren Maybe because this game actually looks really good and there has even been game journalists (like Ngamer) previewing it and saying that it could be even better than Wii sports resort. Also, it seems extremely harsh comparing a game that could be really good to crappy shovelware like Bratz and Alvin and the chipmunks games.
It looks interesting, I'll keep an eye out for the review.
Now if it were an MMO, that would be amazing, but no one ever wants to try an idea like that for some reason.
this looks better than wii sports resort
Does look quite promising. Guess it will at least find its way to me when it's more budget priced. Guess i won't get much multiplayer action out of it, so ...
But of course good reviews could change my opinion.
Looks interesting enough to follow. All those peripherals being used in 1 game is something Nintendo should have done. Multiplayer is always a plus.
Questions I need answered (backwards order) -
1. how are the controls?
2. are the characters customizable?
3. are 4 people rowing that raft together?
4. can people horseback and dolphin swim together?
5. is that a triatholon race w/ swimming, jetski and ATV or has somebody finally made a multiplayer game where 4 people on a couch can all do their own thing? I've wanted something like that for years now, been waiting for PS Home or Free Realms or Animal Crossing to make the attempt.
6. is there really online multiplayer? In a Wii game? Amazon says so - "go online and play multi-player against other vacationers" but they also say this so maybe just leaderboards? - "and challenge their records". If this game lets me play online against real people AND has leaderboards I'll buy it just b/c, no matter how much it sucks, just for them making the effort.
You know what, for $30.98 I'm ordering it now. I have a wife and 2 kids and 4 WiimotePluses. If it's good I'll get it for all my nieces and nephews for Christmas and the cousins can finally play something online together. If it sucks I'll trade it in.
Just ordered it. Wanted to let people know weird shipping policies at Amazon has options of free shipping, $4.98 3-5 day shipping (the default), or 99c release date. I got release date b/c I have credit card points, and it's cheaper than $4.98. Though to be honest free usually gets to me in a day or 2 anyway. So $16.94 gets me a new game for my kids to play with my parents while they babysit all weekend after this comes out. I'll come back and post all about it.
Oh games of Fall 2011, Why could you not have come out in fall 2008?
With Nintendo Publishing it in EU & it's price are good hints that this one's not broken.
@Ren - I appreciated what you're saying but I don't think its relevent AT ALL to Go Vacation Wii
Just played this game single player for 30 minutes - no sign of ONLINE anywhere - I think I've been bamboozeled, cheated and lied to.
On the bright side you can play as your Mii. I am.
