The nice folks over at Ghostfire Games have just sent over the newest boss gameplay video for their upcoming Rage of the Gladiator WiiWare release.
In this video you can see the aged Master Yee and his arsenal of attack moves. You can check out the full Master Yee gameplay trailer below for a taste of what you can expect from this wise old warrior.
Master Yee’s Story:
You must now face your own mentor, Master Yee. He is the grand master of the Ottokawa school of martial arts located deep in the Northeast mountains. He is also the mentor of Nagano, the ninja mercenary. Master Yee is here to avenge the death of his student, as is the tradition of his martial arts order. While Nagano lacked discipline, Master Yee lacks youth. His reed-thin body has been weathered by time and has left him fraile. Who knows how well Master Yee is capable of fighting at his old age?
About Rage of the Gladiator
Rage of the Gladiator is a fantasy-based fighting game. You play the role of Gracius, battling for his life in the arena against 11 unique enemies.
Your equipment consists of a magical war-hammer and a trusty shield. Wait for the right moment, then dodge, jump, or block your enemy's attacks. Next, unleash your rage by brutally pounding your enemy with your war-hammer and bashing them with your shield.
Each opponent has a unique style and pattern that you need to pay close attention to. Learn to exploit the weakness of each enemy with the proper timing and agility, and you will triumph.
As you advance past each battle, you will gain access to devastating combos. Early on, you may learn how to leap into the skies and plunge your war-hammer into the ground, creating a pillar of fire that burns your enemy to a crisp. As you progress you may learn more deadly combos, such as conjuring an ancient tornado to lay the ground asunder.
We'll have more information on Rage of the Gladiator as it becomes available, as well as a full review when the game hits the WiiWare service.

Another interesting gameplay video. How many fighters have been revelaed now? Any left?
When is this game ever coming out?
Stereotypes FTW. Now they're really pulling a Punch Out comparision.
Hey guys,
Ed here, producer of Rage of the Gladiator.
We're taking our time to make sure the game is rock-solid. Quality comes first for us.. we want it to be super polished before putting it on the market. We are aiming to release it soon, though.
We still have a few unrevealed bosses
Scariest boss so far. .3
@ghostfire: Quality eh? That's a legitimate reason. No one wants to buy a crap game.
@ghostfire: it's looking great. that boss there looks like a lot of fun, and it was really funny the way he tells you to attack you and then you wail on him as his hat flies off... as always, i'm impressed by what i see and am looking forward to the game. but just as a suggestion, if you still have more bosses you've yet to unveil, don't. hyping up a game is a GREAT thing (provided the game meets expectaions), but surprises will do more to provide you with return customers for your future projects. even if the game is top-notch, it's not as enjoyable if the gamer already knows what's coming. you've released a lot of info. i'd recommend that anything else you have you keep under wraps. just my thoughts. still, keep up the solid work!
seriously great. I'm gonna go ahead and recommend this be the last hype tariler solely for spoiler purposes--but yeah this game is gonna be fun assuming it controls well. Hopefully the above quality comment is aimed at the control end, as these types of games have to be extremely tight (and going the route of WMP, that's even more difficult to perfect).
And btw. That's Hoy Quarlo. :>
Booze drinking reminds me of a King of Fighers character -- does Master Yee breathe fire as well after chugging his brew?
Hey ghostfire will there be a demo of this I think that would be sweet
Sean- Master Yee doesn't breathe fire, but several other characters do Master Yee is more of a drunken martial arts guy.. his "Drink Sake" move actually heals him!
I can't comment on any demo stuff right now, unfortunately
Ah well, close then! This is looking like it could be a corker. I hope I don't have to fight off other reviewers Gladiator-style to get a shot at this one!
I wonder if his whole old man who cant walk transforms to awesome fighter has any inspiration from yoda lol
Hey ghostfire. 1 question about the 40 mb space limit. Do you have problems with it or was it ok for you in the development?
How big is the texture resolution for a character? 512x512 or 256x256?
I wish you best luck, nice quality!
@Dawnclaude: The size limitation is definitely challenging. Every step of the way we were estimating how much space things would take up, and had a spreadsheet to track it all. Every decision about content to include needed to consider space. We had to do a lot of clever compression to make things work.
