Kuukiyomi is the name of the game, although it seems more like an interactive etiquette course than a proper game.
That's not to say it's a bad idea; watch the trailer. It's positively fascinating. And if they can actually make the lessons in good manners fun (it's tough to tell from the trailer, but certainly it can be done...see Sesame Street for example...), then we'd be interested in seeing an English-language translation.
It will be available in Japan this spring for 500 Nintendo Points, which is one of the pricier games we've heard about so far.
Watch the trailer and comment below, but keep it extra polite; Kuukiyomi is watching!

lol
You're supposed to clap when everybody else's clapping? What a BS. Why would I clap if I felt like a performance was really bad for example?
Stupid - people in Japan will buy anything!
Well it would be handy to get manners into children in Japan, they're HUGE on manners over there. As everyone should be.
This has long been lacking. Finally a program that teaches children manners. Then, the parents no longer have to worry about. With the Nintendo DSi camera Kuukiyomi can also observe the children. And if they do not behave decently, they are punished with the Rumble Pack.
Im American. Over here, manners are only important at restaurants
It has that quirky Japanese vibe-but the actual gameplay is where it will shine or fall.
Ohmi. mm-mmmm! Ohmi. mm-mmmm! Ohmi. mm-mmmm!
What? You actually think Sesame Street is fun?
...not that I do not think so, but, considering that kiddie shows (think Barney*) have been taking a lot of teen abuse, I am surprised that you would talk about a kids show positively!
The weird thing is that the trailer uses what sounds like "omae," which is a rude/informal version of "you" ("Anata" is more polite.), and this is meant to teach manners!

"You actually think Sesame Street is fun?"
Haha, of course! Classic Sesame Street, anyway. Chalk it up to my love of all things Muppets, though. When he was around, Jim Henson could do no wrong.
@Omega: A rumble pack for DSi? With no GBA slot, I'm skeptical...
Yes, Sesame Street IS fun! At least, the parts that Elmo hasn't taken over yet. One of the most adult-friendly kid's shows, anyway. Good old Henson.
Who's publishing it, Nintendo?
@Stuffgamer1: What? The Nintendo DSi has no built-in high performance force feedback device? How will this Kuukiyomi work then? - Ah, I know: If the child is not clapping when Miyamoto speaks on tv, 500 DSi points are deducted from the DSiWare account. Mean!
Hilarious!!
I hope we get this game. Edutainment can be fun. Manners present interesting social puzzles. Replayability may be minimal though.
It seems to have the quirk of Rhythm Heaven and WarioWare.
Um i do not really know what happened, but it really freaked me out.
I clicked on this news from news section or what ever, and then something went wrong, and there was a clicking noise that kept on happening and i couldnt exit or anything, so i did control alt delete, but then the site some how went to redtube.com and i was freaking out and i got out of it.
So i do not really know what went wrong, and i do not know how it went to that site.
@Omega:
LOL. You are on a roll, my friend.
@DaVeMaN99:
Umm...Dazza? This might be one for you to address...
