A zombie attack brings chaos to Harvardville Airport. Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, who fought the sinister Umbrella Corporation during the Raccoon City tragedy 7 years ago, are back. In high-octane Resident Evil style, they're ready to battle a rogue warrior who is seeking revenge after his family was killed in Raccoon City. The deadly G-Virus is unleashed and a new mutated monster goes on the rampage. Will Claire and Leon be able to terminate the virus before history repeats itself?
It's no secret that Hollywood bastardised the Resident Evil movies -- okay the first one wasn't too bad, but crucially it wasn't Resident Evil as we know it. The RE boys over in Japan had enough of this and decided to produce the first full-length CG animation of the Resident Evil world we know and love.
The story is set after the events of Resident Evil 4 and before Resident Evil 5 - perfect for those that'll be snapping up Resident Evil 5 in March, we're included (sorry Nintendo).
We've already seen the movie and it's decent -- the fans of the series should enjoy it more than the live action movies, we'd have to heavily criticise some of the voice animation and a simple plot, but everything else looks fantastic in high definition glory -- worth a watch.
The straight to DVD/Blu-Ray movie is out today (Jan 12th) across the UK and Europe and was released 2 weeks ago in the US.
I want to see it - but I'll wait until it comes cheap. And also: this news isn't that Nintendo-y is it, now?
I Would say an exception could be made here, seeing as how Resident Evil 4 was a big hit on the Wii and Gamecube. Should be better than the Live Action films, although i have heard some criticism of Degeneration.
Considering how many Resident Evil games were (re)released on Gamecube, and Resident Evil 4 and Umbrella Chronicles were big on Wii, I would say it's certainly relevant, even if the source is Sony!
