The demos are fantastic and I really hope that they will continue to add them every Friday. My plan is to download all of them and to pick a day where I'll play them and download the full versions of the ones that I enjoyed.

I fell in love with ThruSpace almost immediately and bought it as soon as I was done with the demo. Outstanding puzzler. The demos for Bit.Trip Fate and And Yet It Moves were a little disappointing though.

Jett Rocket: Pretty good. Feels a bit Playskoolish though.

ThruSpace: Also decent. I might get this soon.

ThruSpace - I can see how this could become an addictive puzzler, but it's really more .99 cents on the app store material than $10 on WW material.

Bit.Trip FATE - This game was so much fun. I am totally getting it at some point (though it seems like it may be shorter than some of the others, there are only 6 levels and the songs really aren't that long).

Jett Rocket - Cute little platformer, but nothing special about it. Seriously, I just got Mario Galaxy 2, so don't know when I'd have time to bother with this.

AYIM - Neat concept. Kind of frustrating, but when you figure the puzzle out, it's very rewarding. I probably won't get around to getting it, but it has a lot of content and is a lot of fun. It's on my "if I ever beat all the games I have now and all the AAA Nintendo games that have just released" list.

Immediately after playing the demos, I wanted to purchase all of the games though. For those with enough $$$ to impulse buy (read, not my broke self) these demos will make a lot of sales.

Thruspace- I don't like it but other people will
Jett rocket- Quite cool platformer, average
Furry legends - NO

I tried out the first demo batch last night after getting home from Thanksgiving travel.

Bit.Trip Fate - meh. I'll play it some more, but it really didn't grab me immediately the way Beat did. It reminded me of BlastWorks in that my eyes were telling me that there was a lot of action going on but it wasn't supported by the audio. I know the idea of the series is that the chip tunes should be central to each game, but here it seemed like they were getting in the way. I can't stay motivated with really hard games if the game's presentation is weak. I also think I would have preferred to have complete control over the character, not just going back and forth.

And Yet It Moves - I've tried the PC demo before, and wasn't impressed. I don't know what it is about the Wii version, but I'm liking it a lot better. It's surprisingly relaxing even when you die a lot. The motion controls and ability to turn the environment all the way around really add to the package. I don't know if I'll jump on it immediately, but I might buy this at some point.

Jett Rocket - Okay, the voice acting is terrible, but the gameplay and graphics are fantastic. I played the entire demo twice last night, and this was the only demo of the bunch that had my girls watching me play. Yes, I might not need this if I had Super Mario Galaxy 2. Unfortunately, I can't afford SMG2. I can afford Jett Rocket, however, and I will probably purchase this soon.

ThruSpace - I haven't finished the demo yet, but it seems pretty cool. As Token Girl said, it really doesn't feel like a $10 game. I'll play some more and see if I'm impressed enough to buy.

AYIM was AWESOME.
Jett Rocket was bland but fun. Won't be buying.
FATE was...sorta meh for me. =/

Jett Rocket: Cool graphics, especially the water, but I got bored with just wandering around through most of the demo.
ThruSpace: Could be fun, but unfortunately all those different rotations don't map well onto the Wiimote, and I think it would take a long time for it to feel intuitive.
Cave Story: I tried to force myself to play the whole demo, but it was too boring. Also, the jumping felt terribly unnatural, and I didn't even like the way the screen scrolled. I guess I really just don't like platformers.

I saw we got another demo this week. Max & The Magic Marker. I loved this game so I already own it. Hopefully we get the Cave Story demo next week because I just don't get this game. It's just a WiiWare version of a PC game which basically is a 2D platformer with retro graphics where all the fans seems to fall in love with. But it doesn't look like anything special to me.

Cave Story is a solid game, unlike Max & The Magic Maker, which is a very flawed game.

Have you PLAYED the PC game? That's why people love it.

@sneaker I feel the same way. Max & The Magic Marker was awesome! Cave Story = Meh
@Mickey Max & The Magic Marker is great despite its glitches (on a one level, I actually got 11/6 black dots). Also, cave Story had its share of bugs before the update.

True, and I'm sure the PC version wasn't perfect until it was updated either. The Wiiware version having so many glitches despite the time they spent porting it was inexcusable, hence why I never bought it. Without the glitches, it's a near perfect game, though. At least in my opinion. It's got a decent story, great music, fantastic stages, and it's just good fun for fans of Platform-action games.

In germany the demos for ThruSpace and Furry Legends are gone.

For Cave Story I think it is special because it's a freeware game that someone made in their sparetime and it looks and plays almost like a commercial SNES game. Why the WiiWare version is so special? Well, I don't know.

@Mickeymac, Sure Max had it share of bugs. It even freezed on me a couple of times, but they have updated the game, last time I checked. But it still was very enjoyable and did something new.

@Starcross64, I haven't played the PC version, but I have a feeling that when a game have a retro look most people are really hyped about it, just because of the look. So I hope that a demo of Cave Story can change my mind.

Just be sure to go into it with an open mind. As for Max & The Magic Maker, the demo killed it for me, and besides, if the game freezes, then it's not worth playing in my book. I don't stand for such glitches, no matter how good the game is.

Shame, you miss out on a great game and as far as I know they fixed the freezes in the US version.

Not sure why I need an open mind for Cave Story. At the moment I don't understand the hype about the game and it appears that only the retro look is enough for people to hyped up the game like crazy. Same like La Mulana and Retro City Rampage. But if the game plays well and is fun, I have no problems with it. But at the moment I'm not impressed.

Going in with an open mind is always good advice when trying something new. If you go in expecting it to not impress, it won't.

The Wii Shop Channel Info (You know, those 4 news articles you can select on the opening screen) says that the Chronos Twins DX demo will be removed this Friday. Furthermore I noticed that the gift options for demos have been removed. What a shame.

@Sneaker13: I agree about Cave Story. I want the demo too. I don't get the hype.
