About the Bass Mode: it's awesome! Even though your buster does half damage, he can shoot at rapid-fire speeds, plus he has what is essentially the Rush Fusions from Mega Man 6. But the only bad thing is that his shop is more pricey
About the Special Stages, I have yet to play them.
I liked Bass Mode as well, I like being able to fuse with Trebble, I do find that(aside from robot masters / bosses), the rapid-fire of his buster is much stronger than Megaman's buster and even Protoman's even though Capcom said he's weaker, but with the rapid-fire ability, it's pretty dang powerful.
I've yet to get through special stage 1, it's pretty frustraiting for me, and I never got through the special stage on Megaman 9 either.
Bass - He Kicks ass thats all I have to say Special Stage - Its a remake of Dr wily stage 1 in Mega man in Dr wilys revenge. and I can get through the stage but I cant defeat Enker.
Shall be awesome....So, does Enker put up a good fight?
Oh yeah, Enker is quite the pill. I'm sure after a few rounds you'll get the hang of it. Also, the only thing that hurts him is the Mega Buster. If you come back a 2nd time to face him, you can get in a little extra damage if you're quick and use the Mirror Buster to reflect his own shot back at him....but it's only for one pellet of energy so it's not as useful.

Enker moves faster in this game than in the GB version, but aside from that he's the same. I'm really not impressed with the Bass mode. I think dashing should be accessible by double tapping left or right as well. I didn't care for him in Mega Man and Bass so I didn't have a high expectation. There is some satisfaction in a turbocharged buster.
So far I've played through the 8 Robot Masters with Bass and it's pretty fun, but I do indeed miss the Double Tap dash and his Double Jump. At the very least, I'm glad he can still Dash Jump. Also, when he shoots straight up his buster is to the right of his head, so it took a little while to get used to that. (As opposed to him firing straight up in Mega Man & Bass, where he shot directly above his head)

I watched my kids play as Bass but haven't tried him yet myself. It looks like the game would be much easier with Bass. I'm not sure I'm ever going to finish the game in Normal mode as Mega Man. This is my first MM game and I was able to beat it on Easy, but I was surprised to find that in Normal mode your progress isn't saved if you quit after beating a stage of Wily's Castle. It was hugely disappointing to have that progress lost, especially since the game is so damn hard in Normal mode.
I also got the special stage and I haven't managed to get past the part with the disappearing blocks yet, but it is fun trying.
So... overall I really like MM10, but I wish that play throughs on Easy level would be saved to the leader-boards as a separate "Easy" leader-board. I can actually complete that! Ditto for playing as Bass or Protoman. Those should just be saved to separate leader-boards. Oh well. Maybe MM11 or is that some kind of MM sacrilege?

Actually not everything is more expensive. As I recall, for Mega Man Energy and Weapon tanks cost 50 and with Bass they are 40 each.

Mega Man 9 was the same way it did not save progress during Wiley's Castle. I would recommend stocking up on E-tanks and extra lives before attempting Wiley's Caslte. If you fail then don't save your progress, so then you will keep those precious E-tanks. It takes a few tries, but it gets easier each time.
I only played both briefly. I didn't like Bass much. It's funny how something as simple as shooting up can make it feel like I'm almost cheating. And not being able to run while shooting is disorienting and hard to adjust to. I haven't tried his "fusions" yet, so I don't even know what's so special about Treble.
The special stage seems cheap, so I'm not surprised to read here that it's based on MM1.
DLC, like the main game, has so far been pretty interesting, but not as fun as MM9 by a long shot.
