Definition of rpg= role playing game. So in OoT I wasn't playing the role of Link? lol

I thought OoT felt very much like an rpg. On the other hand Banjo Kazooie felt more like an adventure game @mariofanatic. lol

@WiiaboutU There is an edit button so that you can put more into one post instead of making so many posts one after another you know. Those games have similar elements but they don't have elements that would normally be found in rpgs like leveling up and the various stats.

You gained hearts as HP, your weapons and sheild were upgraded as attack and defense. You could carry poitions to heal in place of magic.

I'm not that good at explaining some things but I have seen many others class those games as adventure games and I'm sure someone else could explain it better than me.

I don't know, but OoT sure felt like an rpg with real time battle to me. And I would purchase Skyward Sword, before I would purchase any of the titles that Operation Rainfall supports anyways.

The Zelda series is classified as an Adventure game.

Then I guess I have to change my mind and say that adventure genre is my favorite then. lol

By that definition, RPGs don't exist in the realm of video games.

The only games that are literally "role-playing games" are pen-and-paper RPGs.

OoT is not an RPG.

When I was a young teen I'd sometimes play this one rpg board game with game cards, a pen and paper. But I can't remeber it's title at the moment.

I preordered it from GAME today. Is the premium package (the only one GAME are offerring at the moment) more than just the ugly Classic Controller Pro?

Good news that it's coming out shortly - I nearly forgot to preorder it.

If that's all you base it on, then Super Mario Galaxy is an RPG... and so is Halo 3... and any other game where you play the role of a character. Which covers pretty much every genre of video game. :3

This channel has some teasers for the European release of this epic looking game. I didn't watch the fourth and fifth ones as apparently they contain spoilers.

I also pre-ordered from GAME, and the pre-order is meant to also include 3 A1 posters. In an interesting twist, I emailed to confirm that they would ship internationally (I'm in Australia) and the GAME customer service people are telling me there is no pre-order bonus at all. This is despite their website claiming otherwise.

I'll wait and see what happens, as I think a few people will be upset if GAME has their info wrong! If there are no posters, I'll probably cancel that pre-order and grab the Aussie copy for the soundtrack. I'd be surprised if that were the case though as both Nintendo and GAME have mentioned the posters.
