Everywhere I look online people are complaining about the quality of the VC releases. Come on Nintendo - step it up! I'm not buying this crap you're feeding us.

I signed up just to complain. ^^

I don't know why anyone's surprised by the VC mishaps as of late, like missing the Smash Bros. anniversary. Do you really expect Nintendo to remember anything from before their goldbrick-induced concussion (that would be the Wii and DS )? The long-time Nintendo fans got short-changed the moment the Wii came out. Then, our last realm of salvation, the Virtual Console, was reduced to a mere trickle while the (in my humble opinion) lame Wiiware selection reigned supreme.

Now all Wii owners, new and old, are being cast aside in favor of the DSI. Heed my warning DSi owners! It wont be long before you're old and ugly and Nintendo doesn't love you anymore. Then their attention will turn to the new child of the family, and you'll be cast aside like the rest of us. 8'(

But seriously, hurry up Nintendo. Mondays are such crappy days without a refreshing wave of Virtual Console games. I'm not sure how many more I can take. XO

Sometimes I get these moods where I want to buy a game but it happens to be sunday. I had one of these moods last night and bought DoReMi Fantasy. I'm glad I didn't hold out for today's weekly update.

Having SSB64 and Majora's Mask in other regions and not in North America is a big slap in the face. Thanks alot Nintendo of America.

Screw it, I spent my points for the non-existant N64 release on Equilibrio and Punch-Out! (NES). If we don't get a new N64 or Arcade VC title next week in the US though... I'm having a complete meltdown.

If we don't get a new N64 or Arcade game next week, I'm selling my Wii!
...Nevermind the hundreds of dollars in VC games already on it that I probably wouldn't be compensated for if I were crazy enough to actually mean that.

That's probably exactly what they wanted. They're holding out on the good stuff until we buy more obscure titles. Foul play, if you ask me. :/

Me, on the other hand; when I buy a point card, it's with a specific game in mind, and I don't spend a dime until that game comes out. Right now, I got a crisp 2000 points waiting for Majora's Mask and either Smash Bros. or Final Fantasy.

I'm actually in the same boat as you @Preed!

Because I've been holding onto my last 1100 points for the enite month of April; since I last used my Wii points back for my birthday on March 15th! Now I'm slowly worring that Nintendo is making me wait this long for SSB64 & Zelda MM; (when clearly Japan (SSB64) & Euorpe (Zelda), has had them for quite a long time now!!
But I'm going to work on May 9th; & get more points by then anyway; so I can get both eventually instead of choosing one!

And I too think its a HUGE SLAP IN THE FACE that Nintendo is making their fans angry week by week by week; waiting for the long awaited day of May 18th for #300 game... but if anyone like me can wait another 3 more weeks; then so can you!

Days seem to go by quickly; if you have something to do! Lucky for me I replay olds games for the fun of it; or I get an idea of what to do... namely playing or watching my favorite classic shows on tv or movies I love & seen a million times!

Well, my predicting days for VC games are officially over. Nintendo is beyond any kind of reason or rational thought anymore. The fact that Nintendo held onto Smash Bros for 4 months, which most of us looked the other way assuming they were saving it for a landmark release date, and then just NOT releasing it, well, that was just a huge middle finger to Nintendo fans. I was positive we'd get that game yesterday, maybe even more so than most of us seem to be about Majora's Mask being release 300... now I have no confidence of even that happening AT ALL!

What boggles my mind the most about the way Nintendo handles VC is that even though North America is the largest market, they still burn us on releases, and not just downloadable stuff either. WHY IN THE H - E - DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS WOULD YOU TURN DOWN MONEY, NINTENDO?!! There is money to be made here and now, why wait for that, especially when the Wii's appeal has waned considerable in Japan as of late. Get the good stuff out now before the same thing happens in North America! It's just poor business and if they continue to do so, Nintendo will loose the fans that kept them afloat all those years before the Wii came along. Then what happens then, huh? Casual gamers are fickle and won't stay on the line for long and it would be wise to accomidate your core market so that they are there after the honeymoon has ended, if you know what I mean.

Future Wii purchases:
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Metroid: Other M
Zelda Wii
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Sin and Punishment 2

Just because you aren't buying the most recent releases doesn't mean others aren't. Nintendo isn't "turning down" money. Yes, you would buy Smash Brothers, but if it came out the same week -- maybe even same month -- as some of these other games, it would get all the downloads and most would just ignore Nobunagunomankgiepie or whatever the last release was. Of course, I'm ignoring it anyway, but I am only a man. It will likely sell pretty well for a game that cost next-to-nothing to release.

If May 18th is when the Us is getting it's 300th VC game... We could see an Arcade Punch-Out!! release to coincide with the release of the new Wii version. Highly doubtful though, everyone thought something similar about SSB64 and the SSBB release.

I really think a game like that could only sell to those who are fans of the genre and even then it's a very niche market. To be clear, I am not against Nintendo releasing games like this but to do it on a landmark date for another game that has been in Japan for sometime already, it's not seen as an opportunity to try a different game but instead, a huge slap in the face. The point I was trying to make is that it really doesn't do anyone, gamers or Nintendo, any good to sit on high profile releases.

I hate commenting when I don't really have anything to add but... Is there anything that could make this reply more right?

At this point in the Wii's life-cycle online is peaking, storage is no longer an issue, and system saturation is pretty much achieved in most markets (especially Japan)... So the only logical step by Nintendo would be to up their game and push more releases, ESPECIALLY the1st party gems, right?

I guess Nintendo doesn't get the idea of demand, the supply is endless if they just take a little time to code the ROMs...

Unless someone has statistics showing that the games released in the past few weeks aren't doing well, there is no argument here, only speculation. I would assume they are selling beyond small niche markets; otherwise, Nintendo would certainly change their approach. I don't know why anyone would be worried about Nintendo turning down money. If the DS and Wii haven't proven that they know how to make money, I don't know what will. Even if it's not in my best interest, I think their business decisions are spot-on.

I fully agree, and it's not like you American primadonnas don't deserve these slaps after years and years of getting games long before Europe. Having to wait a couple months for your games won't kill you.

Regarding todays update, I personally couldn't give a flying whether they ever release Smash Bros or Majora's Mask. I have them on cart, won't ever download them if they're put on the VC, and will consider the week they're released a terribly uninteresting one. Nobunaga, on the other hand, looks interesting. More like this, Nintendo. Keep at it.

(Oh, and in case any of you whiners are going to tell me that "but others want those games", please choke on your own hypocricy)

Pah-don me, sirrrrrs, yet I save points by not buying them. Given my lack of knowledge of the future/the hearts at Nintendo, I would rather buy what I CAN buy (and having Wii Points left over, especially a spendable amount, like 500, is not a comfortable feeling).

Actually, I like Bowser AND hairy bellies!
