This may be a stupid question, but I don't download too many WW games, as I don't trust they'll be any good most of the time, and I already own most of the consoles on VC, so I'm not "experienced"
Say I want to go over to a friend's house and play Super Mario World with him, so I bring my SD card. Or maybe I sell my console to buy another one for whatever reason. Can I just put the games on an SD card and move them? I'm thinking the answer to all this is no, but I'm not sure, as I've never even used an SD card to download games.
I think downloaded games are locked so that they can only be played on your Wii. Bringing to a friend's on an SD card would not work.
If your Wii breaks and you need a new one, you would have to tell Nintendo and they could transfer your account details to your new Wii and you could re-download them for free.
What you basically buy is a license to be able to download the game, not the game itself. That's why you can keep on downloading it, no matter how many times you delete the game.
So a friend has to download the software too. If he deletes it, i think you can use the backed-up version from your own console however, to reinstal it without downloading it, but I am not sure.
With the latest system updates, save files can be freely transferred however.
