I've noticed Super Star Wars has become available on the VC and was wondering if other film based games will come out? Does anyone have any info on this? I remember there being plenty on the NES and SNES, like Star Trek, Terminator, Goonies etc etc. Cheers...
The Star Wars license is owned by Lucasarts, which means there's no license agreements involved. Other licensed games are more unlikely, especially if the license isn't one that's currently incredibly popular, like Star Wars is.
Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures has a pretty good chance of being released, though.
They are unlikely, but considering that the Star Wars franchise finally got three VC releases, anything is possible. Even with the odds against them, there is still a slight chance.
That odd will increase if we can get Earthbound on the Virtual Console, as well as fix easier licensing issues, like the TMNT.
It probably depends upon how much support there is from the company that has the property. If Disney Interactive falls in love with the Wii then they might want to bring some old VC titles out which will make many people happy from what I've seen around here!
Game releases have to be approved by the publisher, developer and IP owner. Movie franchise games would probably be a nightmare to get out because those 3 bodies have to agree with each other.
This is why Goldeneye isn't ever going to be release on any system.
Well theirs good chances we might see HomeAlone and HomeAlone2 ,lethalweapon, diehard, Dennis the Menace,Addamsfamily ,Flintstones the movie, threestooges, etc on the wii virtual console in the near future.
