So lately I've been playing a lot of Wii Sports because I'm not very fit. Not as in obese, but too small. Mainly I've been doing punching bags in boxing in hopes to build a little muscle, and I'm wondering if this is just a waste of my time. I'm not actually concerned about getting fit but it'd be interesting to hear other people's experiences. A penny for your thoughts, please.
Yep as everyone has already stated if you are hoping to build muscles Wii Sports isnt going to do it. I wouldnt say its a waste of time per say since you get a good cardio workout but if you want muscles than I would suggest joining a gym and doing a bit of weight training for better results.

If you played the ever loving mess out of Wii Sports, then it would help with fitness, yes... as a cardio workout. Basically, if you were on the heavier side of the unfit spectrum, this would help. It gets your heart rate up, and it gets your calories burning. If you're hoping to bulk up a bit, though, you need anaerobic exercise. These are exercises predominantly made up of weightlifting. It's the different between running on a track and climbing stadium steps, or between beating on a boxing speed bag and doing a set of bench press. If you want to gain weight and muscle, get a membership to a gym, or buy a weight set and do some bench press, curls, squats, deadlifts, military presses, and rows. If you can't afford either of those, do some sit ups, push ups, wall squats and the like. You can google all sorts of anaerobic exercises you can do by yourself for free with household objects.
EDIT: And the most important thing is not to give up. You may start to back slide a little, and you may feel like you're not getting any better, and that makes it really depressing and hard to keep working, but I can say from experience if you just keep going through it all and keep up a healthy routine, you'll get better and start seeing the gains you want. Good luck!
I find Wii Fit to be a great start, to get motivated into working out. I mostly do the strength training exercises, and it's fun to beat the Trainer at Push ups and sit ups , (I do about a 100 a day) The Mini-games are great for warm ups, like the hula hoop game, it helps for slimming your stomach.
Just play a little or more a day helps, no matter what. A lazy body just makes your body feel older.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...

Wow. You know a lot. For me it twas But again, I don't really care, even though five year olds can be pretty intimidating. Thanks though.
Wii Fit kick started me into a proper exercise regime. But I've found that loads of exercise isn't strictly necessary as long as you eat sensibly. Do that and half an hour on Wii Fit or Wii Sports will keep you in shape, yes.
