Topic: Which Wonder Boy should I get!?!

I have been looking at Wonder Boy games and have decided to get one. Which should I get?

1. Wonder Boy
2. Wonder Boy in Monster Land
3. Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair
4. Wonder Boy III: Dragon's Trap
5. Wonder Boy in Monster World / The Dynastic Hero

I'm pretty sure that all of these are available on the VC, if they're not, please tell me.

What's your favourite cheese?

2, 3 or 4 would be the best choices imo

What about Monster World? That one sounds the most fun to me.

I would recommend Monster Land. It's nice and fun and the music is often good. I will however warn you that it is very difficult. There is this timer thing which causes you to lose one heart if you allow it to run out. In my opinion, that is the stupidest part of the game. I think it's got decent value at 500 points.

I would also recommend Wonder Boy 3: The Dragon's Trap. But it isn't yet on the virtual console (and I believe it's unlikely to appear). Therefore, you can get Dragon's Curse for the Turbografx for 600 points. It is essentially the same, apart from the music sounding better (from a technical viewpoint, you may like the SMS version's music better). There are a few differences in the appearance of the creatures too.
I would recommend it because it is fairly long, has good music and the level design is absolute genius and it takes advantage of the various creatures you play as.

1 to 4 are all good, 5 is terrible its not even a proper Wonderboy its a shoot'em up, and I just plain don't like it.

Actually I got 5 confused with Monsters Lair, 5 is good too, basically you have WB 2&3 but 2 versions of each, so it depends if you want to save points or spend extra for better looking versions, I'd say get WB3 which PCenginge version.

Yeah, Dragon's Curse is my favorite - Turbografx also doesnt suffer sprite flicker present in the Master System version (which I still have from way back). Also, if you are playing in a PAL region Dragon's Curse has 60hz benefit...

Wait! Wonderboy in Monster World (SMD). One of my favorite platformers ever, and the graphics are so awesome.

Monster World is good... Again you have 50hz but slightly better graphics on the MD, or 60hz better sound track on turbographx as Dynastic Hero. 'cause I'm in Europe went for turbographx...

I think I'll get Monster World.

Dynastic Hero is my pick. The soundtrack is great and you get 3 save files.

I second that. Forget about WiiWare for now and spend all your points on VC before it's too late!

Wonderboy in Monster World is my suggestion, and that's assuming that you already have/don't want Dragon's Curse.
