I bought Kirby 64 on March 1. But I wonder why it got a 5? It plays like Kirby's Adventure (Except it has a mix and match thing with the abilitys). The Minigames were enjoyable. Overall it was a great game.
What is wrong with it?

I enjoyed it, but didn't think it was as good as Adventure, Super Star or Dream Land 2. It's a solid 2D platformer, but not really worth 1000 points when you consider the other N64 games you could get for that price. If that's specifically what you're looking for I'd say Yoshi's Story is better.
Well the score of 5 is really not much more than the specific reviewers opinion. I happened to like Kirby 64 a lot too, but at the same time I can see why other people didn't like it so much. Every gamer is different.

I've told people that it's an outstanding game, but they don't believe me. Keep in mind that they're usually younger than I am, around 20 years old, and didn't experience the glory of Adventure in its prime.
I like Kirby 64. It could've been isometric and the graphics are a bit weird (cutter Kirby, e.g.). Still, I don't see how it got that low a score. It's a good game.

Yeah, I don't get it either. It's not exactly a masterpiece, but it is a very enjoyable game. It is one of the weaker Kirby games, but I'd give it at least a 7. The main reason it got a score like that was probably because it had pretty much nonexistent difficulty.
The pacing of the game was a lot slower than that of Kirby's Adventure, Dream Land and Superstar. The level design was pretty much "go from left to right" for the most part, where-as Adventure had a great deal more exploration to it. I did however like combining powers. It doesn't take long to find all the crystal shards either, and I found that it was hard to die fighting the last boss.
If you compare it to the 2D versions it just pales in comparison IMO, though the minigames were kinda fun, albeit easy.

But other left to right platformers (eg: Super Mario Bros. 1) get high scores but this gets a 5 i'm still very baffled.
