Nothing against people who like it, I just don't.

If you don't have anything against people who like them, why do you want the games off the VC then?

Disregarding the fact that I doubt you've ever played a C64 game in your life, do you want the NES games off the VC too? They cost the same, and are for the most part less impressive technologically.

Because in my opinion they could be putting better games on there. I have played a game before on C64, and I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as my NES games.

There are many games on both the C64 and NES.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

@SonicMaster
I don't know about the GameCube version but i have the PS2 version of the collection and i can say that i like the VC version way much more.
When i play Sonic on VC i can actually feel that i am playing Mega Drive. In the collection, not.
I don't mind having one or two Sonic games on VC (my favorites) even owning the collection.

PS: And unlocking Ristar in the PS2 collection is really a pain.

Gunstar Heroes. Exact same game on PSN for 3 dollars less. And just japanese games in general...why they feel the need to charge us extra for untranslated games is beyond me.

Given that the PS3 console is also over twice the cost of a Wii console, The PS3 being a few bucks cheaper on downloadable games isn't going to make much of a difference. But if you have both consoles then you should get the cheaper option - its dumb not to.

I've downloaded OoT for Virtual Console and if you play using a Gamecube pad it maps the three C buttons used for items to X, Y and Z in a similar fashion to the Wind Waker control setup.

Megadrive games in general. In Japan all MD games are 600pts; no clue why they're 800 in PAL-land; the additional mark-up for VCA versions of games that already have MD releases (Altered Beast and coming soon Golden Axe) is outrageous. I have only one Megadrive game on my PAL Wii which pre-dates the aquisition of my Japanese Wii. I haven't bought a Megadrive title on the PAL Wii since!

Thing is, I want 6 face buttons on my controller, like the N64 pad, using the Z button, which was a weird choice anyway, is really jank...

The only games i'd consider ripoffs are when they release multiple versions of the same game (ahem, Wonder Boy). Otherwise, not so much. Though i would of course like to see price points slide down (eg, any VCA released before 1990 should be no more than 500 pts), most VC is priced fairly (now some WiiWare, that's another story).

And heh, i miss the C buttons too -- i use the Wavebird for N64 games, and i frequently pull out an item in Zelda:MM because i've gotten so used to a controller's R-stick being camera control. =) Is there an adaptor to use the N64 controller through the 'Cube ports?

Sega have arcade Altered Beast and Golden Axe lined up for release. Multiple versions of the same game looks to become more common. Yet still Nintendo won't release the SNES version of Wario's Woods.

Ironically, that's the one scenario where i don't mind "double-dipping" for VC -- releasing the arcade version. Ideally they'd just release the superior VCA version of a title (the Sega titles are good examples as many of the console versions were very near-identical in gameplay terms), but a lot of the home ports are quite a bit different from their arcade counterparts (for instance, Rygar or Ninja Gaiden).

That being said, i'd easily buy VCA versions of DK or Mario Bros. despite owning the NES versions (both cart and VC, not to mention the Coleco and Atari ports), and there being little difference (beyond a greater difficulty and the additional DK screen).
