The Gamecube's "itty-bitty" D-pad is amongst the worst D-pads seen in a modern controller and useless as a primary control interface due to size and placement. Nintendo should be ashamed!
that is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. i actually started to tear up when i saw that. where did you get yours? cause after a quick look on some site i see that it is something i don't think i can afford

Yeah that does look sweet; I actually did a hunt for one and couldn't find it. The Classic Linker is the next best thing for me.
@Sean Aaron I just noticed after reading your previous posts, that the D-Pad on the WiiMote is the same size as the GameCube controller, but it seems to work a lot better on the WiiMote.

i have been on the fence about picking one of those up since i last saw you recommended it. do you need to get an gamecube extension cable as well? is their ANY lag or downside to it? i dont quite get how it works...basicly all im asking this: is all i need to use the classic linker and a classic controller to be able to reach gamecube nirvana?
@LinktotheFuture: And yet, the Wii remote d-pad is the 2nd best d-pad ever (after the Classic Controller, of course). Go figure!
@Djphatskillz: It's just an adapter, but the cable length is pretty short (1m I think?) so unless your seating position is close to the Wii an extension cord is necessary, but Gamecube extension cables can be bought in pairs pretty cheaply on Ebay. No lag, works great. I like it so much I bought two. Only problem I've noted is that it doesn't work with MAME via the Homebrew Channel. For playing proper Gamecube games or Wii games that support the GC (Metal Slug Anthology for example) no issues at all.
I have only purchased to compilation discs this generation. SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 and King of Fighters Collection for the Wii and I paid literally nothing for them. An even 20 bucks new for both together. If I was to buy what games are on VC that are on these discs I would have easily paid more than triple that amount.
it brings extras like history, art, bonus games, interviews, etc
amen, brother. i got SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 for about $9.99 and it is one of my favorite games. And on my Midway Arcade Treasure Vol 2 (for gamecube) that i got for $5.99 pretty much all games have a bio, promo art, and promo videos. watching the promo videos for Mortal Kombat III was awesome! COMPILATIONS RULE!
i have the 3 midway trasures for GC and i try all games, some are curious and other instant classics. My favorite? Smash TV.
I also have Namco 50th anniversary and now i a big fan of Dig Dug, Rolling Thunder and Dragon Spirit. That´s the good thing because you know games you wasn´t interested before.
Me gusta jugar videojuegos. Soy de México. Sorry my english grammar. I love the Virtual Console, party and fighting games too.

I got mine at some random overpriced video game store. Obviously someone didn't know what they had and sold it to this game store that didn't know what it had and I got it for $20. It was at Newport on the Levee to be specific. That's by Cincinnati, for those of you who don't know.
