Unless a miracle happens and licensed games start getting released on the VC, I think it's fair to say the VC glory days are behind us. I don't complain though since we have plenty of great games, The Marios and Zeldas, Pilotwings, Megaman, the list goes on and on... I'd love to see Rogue Squadron in there and a few more N64 games, but let's be honest, tons of new releases it won't happen.
Sure, there aren't as many Virtual Console games being released, but the overall quality seems higher now and I don't know anyone who has really exhausted the existing backlog anyway. Even if the "glory days" are over, there was enough Virtual Console love to justify the price of the console in my opinion.

Yup, I think this is pretty much true. Nintendo obviously isn't going to do the legwork themselves to work out the legal issues, and they haven't really treated 3rd parties releasing games all that well. I guess we'll see whatever of Square-Enix, Capcom, and Sega's library that's easily ported over, already translated, and unlicensed. Other than that, don't hold your breath, we'll be done.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
It seems they're trying to beef up the SNES, Genesis, and NG, which of course takes awhile. If they want to return to weekly releases, they should go back to NES titles.
Still, perhaps they can finally bring us Super FX titles at this rate (maybe even Sega CD?).

@Starfox you might be right, but it has been brought up before that, in regards to all the major franchises, the Mario's and the Zelda's and the Sonic's, they've all been put out. We still have Kirby games, and Mega Man to wait for, as well as long-running franchises like King of Fighters and maybe even Mario Party. There's tons of smaller, less well-known games like Strider Ryu. Honestly, as far as most of the games I was waiting for, I got them (Mario RPG, Act Raiser, Kirby Super Star, Sonic 3& Knuckles), so there's no sense of desperation for me like with other people.
I do wish the Super FX titles would come out, especially (of course, as everyone knows) Yoshi's Island and Star Fox. I personally think there's a good chance they might not, but since out conversation before, I've thought about it, done some research, and while i still think its probably not going to happen, there's is a chance, so I look forward to it when it does.
What are the chances they'd bring the over Metal Gear 1 & 2? They're already one the Japanese VC. I don't know much about them. Were they popular here like the more recent games?
BTW, one of the reasons why I'm someone who never mentions any of the Mother games in my posts is because i DO speak japanese, and I have Mother 1&2 and Mother 3, the GBA versions. There's always one of them in my DS at all times, so I'm pretty satisfied.
I don't think I've bought a VC in over a year now...
I hear its amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on hari-kiri rock!!! I NEED SCISSORS!!! 61!!!
