Topic: Sonic CD on Virtual Console

Well I just wrote two replies in Sonic topics so I guess I might as well start my own. When is Sega going to give us Sonic CD on virtual console? I never owned a Sega CD and would love to have this game. Hopefully its not already out cause I am not in a mood to look asinine.

You can buy it on GC or PS2, its part of the Sonic Gems collection.

PS2 Version was only released in EU

Never knew about that, its the PS2 version I have, though I also have it for the Mega CD too, one of the better Sonic games.

I never got to play it either, and I cant see it coming to VC any day soon. Think I'l just try and find Sonic Gems Collection on E-Bay instead though, that and Rocket Knight Adventures!

I would love to play it also. MG ex had the GCN Gems Collection but we broke up. I should have stood with her for it.

I don't see why they wouldn't release it. It's perfectly possible from the technical side of things.

If they release it on VC with the japanese/european soundtrack intact I'll be a very happy bunny.

It's a Sega CD game. There is no Sega CD category in VC, hence no Sonic CD. If you can find Sonic Gems Collection, it's quite cheap....I'm sure Amazon has used copies for around $10

The Sega CD was a add on to the Genesis. There is a Genesis section on the VC.

It's questionable, but I still haven't give up hope yet. Like with the TurboGrafx-CD, if Sega CD games are supported on the Virtual Console, it will be part of the Sega Genesis section.

I love the soundtrack they put into this game. I just hope that they will put this on VC soon. One of the Best Sonic games I have ever played.

If they did, it'd probably be 900 points.

I had it for the PC and thought it was awful. From what I've read, though, it was just a really crappy port, and I'd be more than willing to try it again properly.
