The atmosphere: The audiovisuals are mostly dark, medieval gothic, and most of the game is underground as you have to explore a deep vast mass grave / underground cave full of treasures and monsters. There is a main area too, with a castle and a village above the ground. You can teleport from the castle to the different floors of the underground cave once you found the teleporters. You can also buy stuff in the shop, or find better weapons and armor and important items in the grave. There are lots of interesting puzzles (I couldn't stop playing until I solved all the rooms and opened all the chests), and the few adventure and RPG elements fit perfectly. At some point in the game you can also disguise yourself as a monster and infiltrate the evil realm to gather information and find more treasure and rescue villagers that were abducted.
The controls are pretty fast, but since this is an isometric game you might need a bit of practice. Still it's far from the awkwardness that Landstalker can be (and yes, Light Crusader's hero has a shadow). The game itself isn't that hard as you can grind for health and gold, and you have access to a nice map that shows you all the rooms you've visited and the big bosses are nice to defeat and well, some of the later puzzles will make you use your brain.
Get this game if you're in the mood for a good dungeon crawler / action adventure. I hope you will like it. Personally, this is one of the best Mega Drive games I have downloaded.
