Topic: SMB1 Challenge

I have beaten the extra worlds of Lost Levels on All-Stars, but the game is too hard for me in its original form to think about beating it 8 times. I still haven't beaten it once!

Oh, and I just tried doing the "No Coins" thing in SMB1, and 2-3 is a nightmare, haha. Try it and you'll see what I mean. I think it's possible, but I missed the first jump just slightly.

Just tried 2-3, you come accross 3 platforms with coins above them and I really don't think it's possible.

That's what I was referring to, haha. With a short hop I nearly made it to the first platform, which would mean all three are possible. I'll try again some time, but I started playing Lost Levels after instead, so I'm sidetracked.

If it's not possible, it could just be changed to "as few coins as possible," and then compare scores with each other... but it still remains to be seen whether the challenge is even fun since I barely got into it.

I don't know, in SMB you can be a couple of pixels out in a jump and never make it.

I tried running and jumping over all of them. Didn't work...

Dang, I think you're right. I just barely short hopped across and ended up getting a few of them. Oh well!

How's everyone doing? Has anyone completed the challenge? If you're new to this thread, check post #1.

Whoops! I forgot about it. I got sidetracked trying to be SMB2 (JP) without warps, beanstalks, etc. I'm using powerups and continues though because I am nowhere near that good.
