Topic: Ratchet & Clank is for everyone, while Mario Galaxy is for KIDS?

I think you guys are letting your inner fanboy take over and you're overreacting a bit. First of all that wasn't a shot against Nintendo, or Mario, it's just her opinion. Secondly, it is kind of true. Mario games (all of them) really are aimed at kids. They are for everyone, but it's clear their target is kids. That's not to say Ratchet and Clank is "for adults", but it's definitely aimed at a more "hardcore" gaming audience

What I'm trying to say is that this doesn't need to be analysed. It was just a nonchalant comment and I don't see why it should have sparked such a heated debate.
Besides, I didn't say it was ONLY for the "hardcore", I said that was their target audience, rather than SMGs much younger target audience

I've always hated Morgan. She's got such a bitchy personality. Not to mention that she's also a man. Just look at that jaw.

I've never played a Ratchet game but it's always seemed like such a generic series to me. The characters just seem so generic and lack originality. Mario, Banjo Kazooie and Rayman....now they're good.

Well, I don't think that the term "family friendly" should be treated as an insult. That's really a great compliment. There's not enough family oriented games out there, hence one reason that I love Nintendo so much. That's not to say I don't enjoy other types of games, but family games that everyone can play, such as mario, are games that I will never tire of playing or replaying. So, in that sense, what she said is not really an insult, however; the other part "insulting to play as an adult" is another matter. I would have to attribute this to her insecurity at playing a title as family oriented as Mario. Now, I'm not trying to put down Ratchet and Clank. In fact, I'm thinking about purchasing one of those games because they seem to be fun, but really, it is her opinion, even though I don't agree with the "insulting" part. I will say again though, there is nothing wrong with a game being for kids.

Here is a statement on this very subject from Insomniac the Developer of Ratchet and Clank Games.

I clearly remember Morgan Webb over and over stating that Mario Galaxy was one of the best game created of all time shortly after it released. I haven't seen the show in quite a while, but I do rember them loving the game. They should, the game was super creative and a blast to play. Insomniac is looking for a much older age group to play their game, but they are sutable for kids to play somewhat a small child would have a very hard time with the weapon selections, quick selects, devices, etc, some of that is quite deep once you get further into the games.

OMG what a $%&*! Ratchet & Clank is a Mario64 clone, and it's never been a very good one either. And I know lots of people will disagree, but they owned PS2's, so I don't listen to them.

I'm as obnoxious as Mr Webb, woooh!

True Ratchet and Clank is a answer from Sony to cater to Mario fans but it is in no way a Mario Clone. Mario is a platformer and Ratchet and Clank is a Shooter/Platformer. Saying they are one in the same (clone) is so far from the truth it not even funny. They both have platforming elements, but the main focus of the games are totally different.

I imagine it was hard for many of the people taking issue with her statement to actually type with the tears running down their cheeks and blurring their vision.
I know the internet is known for people bitching about everything, but come on, how is this thread STILL going?

I agree completely, I didnt see or hear her say it but she is clearly in the wrong to do so as everyone know that Galaxy (my opinion) is the best title on the Wii and the freshest Mario since 64. She is there to look at not listen too anyways. My job is to defend anyone and everything that needs to be defended by fanboys
